Ephesians 5:15-17 (KJV)

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise. Redeeming the time because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

I had more important things to do with my time than sitting around in some boring class, pretending to be interested in what was happening there. This morning was more fun with me testing my beast of a car and it proved worthwhile as I got a parking space without having to look for it.

It was Mr Heywood's class now; the wolf in sheep's clothing. He had his class rapped smartly in black slacks and a bright white shirt as if to hide his sin from everyone else. Only if they knew half of the things I knew about him, I chuckled inwardly.

He was busy blabbering about something regarding how he 'heartily' welcomed all the learners. I must admit, it indeed surprised me that he was a professor at this prestigious university.

As he continued with his long overdue talk, a girl with the most beautiful chocolate skin walked in, from her side view I could see her cheeks tinted red but her dark skin did a very good job at hiding it and if it wasn't for my sharp eyes, I would've missed it.

"I'm sorry for being late," she said in the most angelic voice I had ever heard, but if there was one thing I had learnt about girls, was to never trust them, not that I was trustworthy.

Heywood expressed his annoyance before ushering her to our long wooden tables. When she turned around, I got a full view of her. My breath hitched in my throat. She was the most gorgeous girl I had ever seen in my life. Her doll-like face looked appealing with her button-down nose and tiny pink mouth. She had the most alluring pair of brown eyes I had ever seen. However, her most prominent feature was her beautiful, black, curly hair that was tied into a large, round bun. Why was I reacting in this manner to a girl? There were all the same deceivers!

I focused on something that deserved my attention, my cell phone, with which I communicated with the men about the shipment, machine trade with the Spanish and my other business dealings.

"There is a seat at the back," Mr Heywood's annoying voice said, making me lift my head from my phone to look at the girl that was being embarrassed again.

She looked like she was having a talk with herself, crazy much? As her brown orbs surveyed the back rows before landing on the empty seat beside me.

She didn't seem to notice me as she walked closer and closer to me. I averted my gaze to my phone as I felt her lift her head and look at me.

As she took a seat, I caught a waft of her strawberry perfume. It differed from what I had smelled before. This one was not too much unlike other girls that seemed to bathe in perfume.

She took a seat next to me and the one word she said next surprised me; "Hello," she said.

I bluntly ignored her as though I had not heard anything. After all, she just wanted my attention, which I valued and could not just give.

The wooden chair kept making squeaking as she continually squirmed, which I didn't enjoy at all. However, I did not miss the murderous glares Samantha was sending the girl.

Maybe they knew each other and had some vendetta against each other, or rather Samantha had a vendetta against the girl, girls.

You must be asking yourselves how I knew Samantha, well she was a blond-haired girl that most boys considered sexy. She had always wanted to be with me by stalking and following me around like a lost puppy, but unfortunately, I did not find her attractive but rather annoying, so I tried my best to ignore her.

But unfortunately, I could not avoid her as her father was one powerful member of our mafia and she was one Daddy's Principessa. Running to Daddy dearest when something was not suiting her liking, she got what she wanted when she wanted it.

And now she wanted me so her father had arranged an alliance between the two of us, one that my stepmother was elated at. He proposed a marriage proposal between us, which I did not want and still do not want but Samantha was ever so persistent.

The class finally ended and the girl beside me quickly packed her notebook and pen into her bag before making a beeline for the door.  Samantha turned to look at me flashing me a smirk, which I suppose was supposed to look attractive but I found absolutely nothing attractive about it.

"Ally, why are you always angry?" she asked with the nickname I so detested, a frown covering her smirk.

Not having the time and patience for her childishness, I swung my bag on my shoulder and made my way out of the energy-draining class.

Soon I was swallowed by the crowded hallway as I made my way to the cafeteria, phone in hand, reading the latest findings of the cops we were always on the radar of. We needed to stay informed even though we were always informed before any raid or investigation as we had someone who worked for us in the team.

In no time I got to the cafeteria and my nostrils were filled with the usual Italian dishes. I walked over to the long table where my 'friends' or should I say my partners in crime were seated.

Giovanni whom I considered my brother was my second in command, the underboss. After our father's deaths, I had to become the capo of one of the biggest and deadliest mafias in Europe and he was my  second-in-command.

He was already seated in his usual seat. You must be wondering how that can be his usual seat if we only came this year. Well, I kinda bunked my lessons last year and didn't submit my assignments and that caused me to have to repeat this year, thanks to stepmother dearest.

Giovanni was in his second year and the total opposite of me. I approached him and sat at the head of the table.

"Buongiorno, Giovanni," I said.

"Ciao," he waved at me with a light smile, always the happy one.

The others soon arrived and ordered the food they were going to eat but I couldn't because I was a germaphobe. So I could not eat something prepared by a bunch of strangers in a possibly contaminated area and not to mention germs. I usually brought my food made by my personal chef but today I had not felt like it.

I took out my phone after getting bored out of my mind from listening to Lucia, Margaret and Susan; other members of the Cosa Nostra talk about how annoying their boyfriends could be.

I scrolled through Instagram looking at some hot girls but I couldn't remove my mind from one certain girl I had seen in class today.

But why?
