"Okay, okay.. but first. I want to speak with him, I want to speak with Eddie." You demand, fists balled at your side as Kas approaches you.

It takes everything in you not to step backwards this time as a finger is placed under your chin "No," he breathes out "Then how do I know he's actually in there?" You argue, a dramatic exhale escapes Kas'a lips.

He brings the finger that's under your chin to tap beside his eye "Look," he states, your eyes focusing deeply on his as they flash from a golden yellow to a blood red and finally, finally.. to those deep amber brown eyes you love so much.

They look.. terrified, lost.. trapped.

Your heart sinks into your stomach, feeling so queasy you could vomit right then and there. Eddie may not be in physical pain but he sure is in emotional pain.

Before you can get a word out, they flash back to their blood red state. "You asked," Kas gives a small shrug of his shoulders, "Can't you - I don't know, use someone else as a puppet until Vecnas taken down?" Your throat felt like it was closing as you spoke.

Kas bows his head, a taunting smile on his lips "Eddie is tied to me, bound by my bats." His wings open in the blink of an eye "Your bats?" You question with raised brows as Kas gives a nod.

Kas raises a hand and with in seconds his sword comes flying to him. "Stay put," he gives a nod as he makes way for the door "Wait where are you.." you turn around in confusion

"You want me to save your friends, don't you?" He asks over his shoulder "Well.. yes." Obviously you did "Even Will?" You're skeptical as you ask, "No." Kas grimaces "What?! But the mind flayer.." you raise your voice.

Kas pinches the bridge of his nose, "That's a battle I can't stop, just like Eddie is bound to me.. your friend is bound to... what you call the mind flayer." He explains slowly.

"Once Vecna is defeated, your friend will be freed." His tone is almost reassuring yet still so cold "He's only bound because of Vecna." He goes on to explain

"And if Vecna kills him by then?" You shift your weight with crossed arms. "I'll bring him back," he says casually "Oh yeah. I bet that's an everyday occurrence." You roll your eyes

"Vecna has the ability to raise the dead.. clearly. I will have that ability once he's defeated and I take his vessel." He now turns to look at you "And Max?" You ask, a frown displaying on your face "That.. that I'm not sure of." He says in thought.

Your lips twitch back and forth "if you're.. undead. A vampire. What being did you take as your form before.. Eddie?" You couldn't help but ask.

A stiff chuckle escapes Kas's lips "What humans may call.. a ghoul. Darkness itself." His sword begins to flash red "Stay put," he repeats "Be mindful, I can hear you." He says quietly as he motions to his head then sword.

The doors to the house fly open then just as fast, slam shut. Great. Now you were stuck in the upside down, alone.. possibly miles upon miles away from your friends, from any familiar territory with in this twisted side of the earth.

You were torn on whether to trust Kas or not, it all seemed so... convent. Pieced together too perfectly. Was he good, in some capacity? As good as a monster could get?

Did he truly just want to restore the upside down? Close off all access to Hawkins and act like the two never coexisted?

In a way.. it made sense. Kas saying he was here long before Vecna which meant the upside down could have existed since the dawn of time and never once did it impact your world, your Hawkins.
