"I don't trust him," Steve whispers as you all seat together closely to talk among yourselves "Could you make that anymore clear?" Dustin quips sarcastically

"Eddie is in there - alive. Max is alive. Will is alive. Do we want to save them or not?" You chime in.

"It seems the only way to make sure they make it out is by... trusting Kas." Robin says the last part slowly, not entirely sure she fully trusts him herself.

"I mean you have to admit. Everything he says.. makes sense." She adds, a thought you had yourself earlier.

"Yeah but he's one of them, a monster. Monsters aren't on our side." Steve whispers at the absurdity "I can hear you," Kas's voice echoes in the empty room. "What's the point of whispering if the guys just going to eavesdrop." Steve huffs.

"Just because my home is not like yours does not make me a monster." Kas states in fact as he walks a loop around the table "You drink blood, kill people and.." Steve starts listing things off on his fingers as Kas lets out a hard laugh.

"I do not drink blood," he shakes his head, an entertained grin on his lips "I do not kill people," he states. The four of you look at Kas in confusion "But you're a - a vampire." Dustin's perplexed as he speaks.

"Simple, simple humans." Kas sighs tiredly "I feed on the flesh of what you call — monsters, I kill — monsters." He states slowly like he's talking to third graders.

He comes to a stop near Steve "My duty is to protect this world, my world. Not intrude on other worlds." He leans down beside Steve and Ali "Sorry to say, your flesh isn't.. appealing to me."

Kas grins with his fangs on display. Steve shudders, inching his body away slowly as he looks at Kas.

"That makes me feel a lot better because you know, I was kind of wondering if one of us had to be a snack.. who would be first and I.." Robin begins to ramble.

Kas head darts up and shoots Robin a narrowed glare "Never mind," she laughs breathlessly.

"Then what's the plan? I can't exactly imagine Vecna is going to be cool with his right hand man trying to kill him." Dustin says in thought, his finger tips drumming against each other. "I have free will," Kas states quickly.

He sits down upon the edge of the table, his hands brushing over his pants lightly - Eddie's pants. "Vecna doesn't belong here, he never did. I want to make things right for my world. I want it to be what it once was before your world intertwined with it." He says quietly with his head bowed.

"That means... there'd be no more gates? No more upside down seeping into our world?" Steve tries to clarify as Kas flashes a smirk "I think he's getting it," he teases.

"But our world will still be destroyed, well.. our town at least." Robin says with knitted brows. "Yes but it would be repairable." Kas states in fact, as if it were a non issue whatsoever.

"Plan?" Dustin demands again, palms outs as his brows raise. "There isn't one." Kas gives a small shrug of his shoulders "So you do want us to die," Steve blinks repeatedly.

"I have the only weapon that can take him down," Kas arches a brow, with in seconds his sword is in his hand. His finger trips trail over the blade, "And what about us?" You ask with crossed arms.

Kas's lips twist to the side "You all stay here," he says deadpan "What? No! No!" Steve shouts, getting up in Kas's face

"My friends might trust you but I sure as hell don't and if you think you're waltzing out there and taking Vecna down on your own — you're insane." Steve snarls in Kas's face.

"Sit down, boy." The final word is harsh as it leave Kas's lips, Steve gulps hard "I'm just saying.." his voice is weaker, quieter as he shakily sits back down in his chair.

"Fine, come with. Get yourselves killed." Kas sighs loudly as his sword flashes from the regular icy blue hue to a deep purple, your face scrunches... why does his sword do that?

"Well when you put it that way.." Robin hangs her head to the side with her lips pulled tightly together. "Well if Steve's going, I'm going." You state firmly

You weren't going to just let one of your friends walk into the line of fire alone especially when Steve had a special ability to piss off Kas.. knowing Steve he'd get himself killed by Kas just for being mouthy.

"No," Kas simply breathes out, your head whipping up to look at him "What are you my keeper or something?" You're half sarcastic, half annoyed as you speak.

"Something like that," a hint of a smile shows in the corner of his lips - that also sounded like Eddie. Not his voice this time, but something he'd say.

Kas stands up straight, walking back over to where you are seated as he taps the top of the chair with his fingers "Think of me as..." he searches for the words "Your saviour of darkness." He muses "How romantic," Steve groans.

"Saviour, keeper - whatever. I'm going." You're strong willed, not wavering on this choice. Kas let's out a disgruntled, almost painful sigh "Humans — too stupid for your own good." He groans.

"I'm going too," Dustin rise from his seat as Robin raised a hand "Guess you can count me in then." She says quietly, "Wonderful, now I have to babysit and keep you all alive." Kas begins walking to the door as Steve follows behind "You get use to it," Steve pulls a tight lipped grin.

"You two.." Kas points from Steve to Dustin "Will be a... distraction. Keep Vecnas mind busy so he doesn't peer into theirs," Kas points to you and Robin

"That sounds like.. a death trap." Dustin says cautiously "Are you to weak?" Kas challenges "No!" Steve speaks up quickly "Then distraction it is, try to think of anything but what we spoke about. Think of a fake plan." Kas states.

"And us?" You ask, motioning between you and Robin. "Hidden, once we get onto Vecnas grounds.. just like them." Kas gestures to Dustin and Steve

"then why aren't we distractions?" Robin asks, mildly offended "You can't change your thoughts," Kas points out "You have very little control up there and she," he points to you "Can't die." He states firmly "Well at least one of us has immunity, must be nice." Dustin huffs.

"We must walk, follow behind. Watch out for... well everything." The type of gestures and body language that Kas possesses reminds you of something out of a Shakespearean play, it was all so grandiose and proper. Extremely out of place.

"Yeah that should be easy considering we can't see," Steve groans about the dense fog ahead. "It'll pass," Kas insists.

Robin takes a step forward "What about the uh, the bats?" She asks curiously "They will do no harm, they can not kill." Kas continues to walk.

"Can't kill?" Dustin asks curiously "I won't allow them to," Kas says quietly "Not you or your friends, at least." He smirks.

"Well... here goes nothing." You sigh as Kas fades into the fog and the four of you follow as closely behind as possible.
