You circle around to the back of the mindflayer.. well if it even had a back. Being a gigantic black mass of nothigness, it seems like it would be void of more human aspects. It's entire being could be a face, who really knows.
You draw in the deepest breath imaginable, it's long spider like legs were obviously connected to it.. that was really the best shot, only shot.. to bring the mass down to your level.
You could aim for the heart but does this mass really have one? Doubtful. There isn't really a guide book of 'Where-to-strike-the-mindflayer' in order to bring it down.
If there was, you would be the authors biggest fan.
The swords glow dims, anytime you have a thought it seems to directly transfer to the sword.
You think you need light, it glows brighter than a thousand suns. You think you need darkness and it takes on the ambience of a lonesome street light in a dark and gloomy alley.
You feel any emotion and the colourful glow changes to represent that feeling.
It was strange but kind of fucking awesome at the same time.Well, guess now is as good of a time as any. You swing the sword upwards, plunging it into the misty leg of the mindflayer. An earth shattering, trees shaking, ground wobbling growl escapes from the creature.
Think it's a little pissed off.
The mind flayer spins around to face whoever had stabbed it, your eyes widen in horror as you see Steve run out from the tree line and up to Will.
"It was me, you ugly creature!" You yell up to the dark mass. Doing your best to keep all attention on you while Steve decided to be a reckless idiot.
Oh no. Now Robin is following.. and Eddie and Dustin. Can any of them follow simple damn directions? Do they want to die? Is that it?
"It's time to fucking die!" You yell out in might, waiting until it lowers its upper half and stabbing the sword directly into its.. stomach? Core? Heart? Whatever it was.
The monster screeched and wailed something fiery, legs.. arms.. flailing all about.
You keep stabbing
And stabbing
And stabbing.
Why? Maybe it was pent up rage against the upside down itself. Maybe it was your fear for Will. Maybe you were just so damn done with monsters and vampires.
It sure as hell had something to do with being worried your friends would be caught as they collected Will and headed back to the tree line.
You weren't sure what you were expecting.. but it wasn't an easy fight and it wasn't that the mind flayer would disappear like atoms in the night sky.
That was easy, too easy.
Either this sword harnessed more power than even you thought, the mindflayer didn't want to fight or... the mindflayer was told not to fight.
Your stomach turned and ached. A sickening thought washing over you, Vecna knows you're coming.
You blink rapidly, expecting the now nonexistent monster who vanished into thin air to become a dark mass once again but it didn't.. it was just.. gone.
You wipe sweat from your brow as your tense shoulders lower, a sigh of relief escaping your lips as you drag your feet against the vast field.
"That was.." Will starts with eyes of wonder "Badass," Eddie grins.. practically jumping in face. "thanks," you laugh in thought "But you are all idiots. If it had turned around.." you start, feeling sick again at the thought "But it didn't," Dustin points out with head tilted to side,
"But if it did," you point out just the same.
Your body felt cold, achy.. like you needed the longest sleep of your life and the worlds best massage.
"Are you okay?" Steve asks with knitted brows and hands on his hips, you nod faintly. "I'm great," you lie, forcing a smile as Eddie slings his arm over your shoulder "Maybe uh a little break," He says down to you as you wave off the idea,
"No time for a break," you state with a shake of your head. "Are you sure? You look.. sick." Robins voice is soft, full of worry. "Guys, I'm fine," you huff.
Beginning to trod your way through the thick, dense forest that is covered by a canopy of trees.. your vision starts to blur.
You squint your eyes repeatedly, opening and shutting them.. rubbing at them but it doesn't make your vision return.. instead you continue to see black dots cloud your vision until they fully take over and your body goes weak.
"Y/N!" You head Eddie call as you hit the cold, hard ground.. but it's too late. You're out.
