I sat back at the chair next to the window. I started studying the pistol I took from the other room. Might as well practice using it in case someone breaks in the hideout. But before I could, I heard a door slam from the hallway. I stood up quick and slowly sneaked out. I peeked through the door, and saw no one from the hallway. I stood at the middle and looked straight, waiting for someone to open it. But I felt the door next behind me, slowly move and when I turned, I saw Bane standing in front of me. I quickly pointed to gun at him with both hands. He glanced at the pistol, then looked back at me.

The moment I've seen him, I didn't even know what I felt. It was a mix of happiness and nervousness.

I spoke, "Are you here to kill me?" I bluffed,

He sneered, and slowly placed his finger at the gun and pulled it down. He gently took the gun from me and threw it off. "I am here to talk, that's all."

"I don't trust you,"

"Really? After what happened back there, you choose to not trust me now?"

"Should I?" I raised an eyebrow,

"Yes you should." He placed his hands on the strap of his vest,

We had quite a talk, but it wasn't that serious. The whole time, I caught him staring. And I had to move in a corner to make him stop.

"I am hoping that you wouldn't choose to bail,"

"Why would I do that?" I interrupted, "Cause you know, either way, I'm gonna get my ass killed."

He laughed, and somehow, his laugh was the best laugh I've ever heard. He spoke, "You should stay out of this,"

"Not until you realize-"

"Realize what?" He tilted his head,

I sighed, "until you realize that Miranda's only using you."

"I know that,"

"So you know how I feel?" I sneered, "It doesn't feel so good, does it?"

"Do you want me to back out of the plan? It does not work like that, Amy."

"I was actually. But you're really stubborn."

Bane laughed again, this time, he stepped a bit closer, "I am, and I am a bad man. Nothing can change my way. Even you, trying to talk me off closure."

"Who said this was anything like closure?"

"You trying to distract and ruin the plan? You think I would not find out?" Bane asks me, like he was trying to intimidate me. I started to look all confused, "What?"

"Isn't that why you're trying to tell me?" he sneered,

"What--no! Why would you even think that way?" I scoffed, "I'm not trying to distract you."

"I knew you worked for someone else behind all this--" Bane started stepping closer, and I started walking backwards until I hit the wall. We were at the corner. He was looking at me, straight in the eye.

"I am not working for someone, I tell you. I-I'm on your side, for goodness sakes!" I defended, "What the hell, Bane?"

He shoved his hand on the wall, trying to make it hard for me to go.

"Go ahead, prove it."

"I know I can't talk you out of this, you won't even believe me." I said, looking back at him not trying to break eye contact. I really wanted him to know that I ain't backstabbing him. Bane tried to study my face, he didn't look away as well. He then sighed, "How do I know you won't?"

"I didn't run to the police, did I? Instead, I hid from them. I was planning to get back on my feet. I know what I want, I want to stay."

"What's with all the drama?!" He cut me off, "Something tells me you love being here. Why do you keep pushing yourself into this?!"

"I just hate seeing you throw yourself to Miranda when she can't even see how much you care for her, Okay?!" I shouted at him, panting quietly. I kept looking at his eyes, it was quite a mood swing. I finally got that out.

"What are you talking about?"

"I've seen how you looked at her," I added with a slight frown, I tried to crack a smile. I saw him glance at my lips and look back at my eyes, I sighed. "I'm pretty sure she doesn't and I think it's unfair,"

Bane took his arm away and turned, he broke eye contact, "What did you expect? This is not a sweet love story, Amy. Neither did I expect anything. You think I even care?"

"Don't you?" I asked him, while I was standing behind him. Bane shook his head 'no', I tried to explain, "She's an uncaring woman, she doesn't even care about you and it bugs me, cause you're doing all this effort for her and she can't even turn to say thank you? She'll probably just leave you off once this is over--"

Before I could finish, Bane turned quickly and pinned me to the wall. His hand was shoved hard on the wall, while his other hand was holding my arm. He was pissed, probably because I let him realize the truth.

"I don't care if she brings back the credit, I don't care if she doesn't care about what I feel, or what you think. I will finish this for her or her father. Do you understand?!" he shouted at me, but I know he was hurt. I know he is. He looked down, trying to catch his breath through that mask of his. I could hear his heavy breathing. He was tall, and was conquering my space. He's a big man, so I could feel his warmth next to me.

"I'm sorry," I whispered to him.
