Back in New York, my original home. This is where I feel safer. After years of being unknown and forgotten in this city, I came back. I can re-invent myself.

"Here we are," I said, leaving the keys on the table next to the door. I turn on my heel and face Bane, his eyes scanning the whole place.

"You live alone?" he asked,

I nodded, "Yeah."

Bane slowly walked in and put his bag down on the floor, still looking around the house. I walk to the dining area and made coffee for both of us.

He sat on the sofa and slouched down, his fingers clasped together. He looks down on his feet, quiet and not even saying anything.

I walked towards him with a cup of coffee in my hand, "Are you okay?" I ask him and he sits up, looking at me.

"Yes," he speaks up, "I barely think I am not."

"Okay..." I sit at the other chair next to him, "I know you're still adjusting, because believe me, I am too. But I'm just really glad you're alive-"

"Why did you let me live?" he asked me with a tone, and I kept silent. "The truth?" he added and I sighed.

"You want the truth?" I sighed, slowly putting the cup down on the table.

He stood up and faced me. I looked up at him, and notice his towering height and muscular arms. He looked down on me, not tearing his gaze away.

I stood up from my seat and walked off next to the window. "I already told you,"

"I know it isn't the reason why," he sounded mad, "What is it? Revenge? Using me too?"

My eyes widened as I turn to him, I gaped with glaring eyes. "What?" I exclaim, "What the hell are you talking about?"

Bane sneered and shook his head, "You don't really have to make up such excuses,"

"I am not making up excuses-" I groaned, "You know what, I am not having this argument right now."

"Avoiding my questions, just so you can have time to use me until I realize soon enough, how much of a useful monster I am to everyone-"

"Stop it!" I shouted, slowly walking to him with eyes flaring, "Just stop it!"

He paused with eyes glaring right at me.

"I am not a fool, Amy."

"Neither am I!" I added, "But I know whatever I'm doing? It's all right to me."

Bane sneered and looked away.

"I guess I am right, You are to use me."

"That's bullshit." I say, making him glance back at me. "I did everything to make you live because I love you, that's why."

Shivers went through my spine, and I felt coldness everywhere in my body.

"Don't even start with that," he mumbled.

My eyes started to pour our tears, and I couldn't even stop it. "You might not believe these things I'll say, but I don't care. Because I have waited so fucking long to tell you this at the right time." I took a deep breath after hearing my voice break. No, I am not gonna cry over this small thing. Nope.

"I let you live because I didn't want you to--" I gasped, covering my mouth as tears flooded down on my cheek. I sighed and tried to continue talking with drenched eyes, "-to be left out without knowing that there's actually someone who loves you for you."

Bane stared at me,

I gasped once more and wiped the wet tears on my cheek, "I didn't want you to think that you don't deserve to be loved just because of that stupid fucking mask. Or your plans. Or your backstory. Because you do." I paused, swallowed nervousness and walked out of the room.
