Bane stood there, not saying a word. He must be startled with what I had to say. I can't blame him, though. I was trying my best to fool everyone. I tried to act as if I didn't need anybody and now I'm suddenly in-love with him. Who wouldn't be confused?

I went to the kitchen to try and calm myself down. I often have trouble trying to pull the break when it comes to speaking my mind. Especially when my emotions are stirred. But I knew I couldn't live a lie. I had to tell him the truth before it's too late.

I almost lost him. I didn't want to lose the opportunity to tell him the truth.

As I turned, I gasped at seeing Bane standing near the door pane. He probably did not know what to say either. Which is fine. I didn't expect him to say anything at all, so I placed the house key on the counter and walked past him. I felt his eyes follow me until I reached the door.

"You can stay here as long as you want," I said calmly, trying to ignore the fact that I just spilled the truth a short while ago.

"Where are you going?"

"I managed to find a place to hide away while waiting for everything to settle down in Gotham. You stay here and start a life of your own. Don't worry, I have the bills covered for the first three years to help you on your feet." I opened the door. But before taking a step, I added, "Just forget I ever existed and you'll have a good life."

Bane scoffed, "That is none sense, Amy. You brought me here, saying you could help me, and now you are here telling me to live on my own?"

"Isn't that what you wanted?" I glared at him with exasperation, "I'm doing you a favor. This is the 'help' I'm talking about."

He stepped closer and shook his head in disbelief, "Where are you going?"

I took a deep breath and looked outside, "Goodbye, Bane." I said and left the house.

I walked through the porch and out to the street, hoping there was a cab about to pass by. I just could not let him see me like this.

I crossed the street and watched the road, still hoping I wouldn't see Bane following me or anything. It's just going to make things too complicated and sappy. I hate sappy. But sometimes I can't help it.

A car stopped in front of me and the driver rolled down the window, "Need a lift?" he asked, smiling at me. I didn't remember strangers to be this friendly, then I realized, I was just wearing a low tank top with tight jeans. Assholes.

The driver reaches for the passenger door to open it for me. "Where you headed?"

Before I could speak, I heard the front door open and a huge guy came running out the porch.

"Stop!" he shouted, "S-stop!"

Bane had his hand up, gesturing me to not get in. I gaped at him, "What?"

"Wait-" he ordered,

"What are you doing?"

"It's none of your business."

"Are you getting in a car with a stranger?"

The stranger answered, "Yes" making me glare at him.

"In your dreams."

The driver frowned at my answer and hurriedly reached for the car door, slamming it. "Bitch," he added before driving away. That man's lucky he got away before I could slam his ass on the ground.

"Just what I thought," I heard Bane speak, "Come back inside..." he added, "please."

Annoyed, I stomped my way back. What the hell is happening? What the hell am I doing? And what the hell is he doing?

I crossed the street and finally reached the porch, "What are you doing?"

"What are you doing? Your bags are inside."

"I-"

Bane smirked. Gosh, that smirk.

"I knew that. I was...going to calm myself down." I raised my eyebrow,

"Sure." He said. His air of toughness was back. Of course. Then, he turned around and gestured towards me, "Come back inside."

"I really don't have a choice."

"No, no you don't." He said with a suggestive tone.

Trying to push off the humiliating and scandalous walk-out I just did earlier, I stomped my way inside the house.
