You stop running as you fed the grass, looking around at the misty forest in front of you as Gon and killua talk

"What do you mean I was way if front of you! Y/n was the last one here!" Killua says as you roll your eyes

"I was the first one to step here, killua was last" you say as he gives you a angry look, Gon shaking his arms for you two to stop

"What are you talking about I won"

"No I won"

"I was faster and you guys couldn't keep up" you say sarcastically as you three continue to argue

Satotz watching you three with a look as you roll your eyes pointing towards the examiner

"Which one of us was faster?" You ask as Gon and killua watch, satotz nodding as he gives you a smile

"You crossed the finish line simultaneously. But if I must say miss y/n was in front"

You smile happily as Gon and killua gasp before groaning "fine. I guess I'll buy your dinner, but then you have to buy me dinner!"

"I don't get it..." Killua says annoyed as you smile satisfied, walking up to satotz as Gon asks him about the second phase

"No it isn't, we have quite a way to go." He says as you gasp, looking at him with big eyes as you yell

"You have to be joking it feels like home now" you say groaning as killua looks at you talk with satotz, something in his eyes as he hums

Everyone one else arrives to the top as you sit down, the grass tickling you a little as you look to your side, seeing Gon greets kurapika

"You know it's not safe for you to be alone~"

A shadow blocks your view as you look up confused, seeing number 44 Hisoka in front of you...

"Whatever do you mean by that?" You say not interested as you look away, the sound of him smirking being heard as he moves to stand with you

"A girl like you should have bodyguards... I mean I can just smell the importants running off of you~ it's exciting~"

You shrug before seeing satotz eyes on you, the man giving you a nod before you speak

"I don't really need any... besides I'm sure nothing here can hurt me" you say shaking your head as hisoka chuckles, the man not continuing his speech as he just stares at you viscously, if looks could kill..

"Stop bothering her hisoka." A distorted voice calls out, the clown humming in response as the needle man appears at your other side, looking down at you for a second

"Is this your friend? My my I thought you couldn't have any" you say folding your arms as the crazed man just keeps looking between you two

"What's this you know of her? Please spill" hisoka says as you runs his fingers through your hair, you glare at him as he lets go

"I've never met that man in my life" you say getting up, walking away from the two as you rejoin the others. Seems like staying near them in better then whatever he's doing

"These wetland creatures are not to be underestimated, they will use every trick in the book to get there prey" satotz says as everyone looks at him scared, you look at all the trees as you sniff heavily

Pinching your nose a little as you sigh, kurapikas eyes falling on you as you look at him too, the boy being flustered a bit as he looks ahead

"That is why it's know as swindlers swamp, now then please follow me closely so you won't be."

You all look at him serious as Leorio scoffs, a big smirk on his face as he gets up, still dripping in sweat

"Is he serious? Who's gonna fall for it if he tells u-"

"Don't fall for it!"

You look to your side as a man appears behind the concrete pillar, all beat up as he points to satotz

"Don't let them fool you.. he's lying... That man is lying to you!"

Satotz doesn't look impressed as you smile a little, kurapika noticing as he goes to whisper in your ear

"The beat up man is a monster isn't he?"

"Sure is, who would even believe something like this.." you say rolling your eyes as the best up man continues

"He's an imposter! A total fraud! I'm the real examiner you got it!"

Leorio gasp a little before sweating "wait what... what's going on here!"

"I can't believe this" you say sighing as everyone starts questioning, the man taking it further as he pulls out a monkey looking thing with satotz face

Everyone gasping shocked as Gon speaks up "woah! He looks like mr satotz!"

"This is a man-faced ape from the Milsy wetlands." He says as everyone looks at it shocked, you look not impressed as Leorio raises a eyebrow

"A man faced what?"

"A man faced ale loves the taste of human flesh, but their limps are really long and thin, so they're actually quite weak. That's why they disguise themselves as humans, they trick us into following them into the wetlands. Where they work together with other animals to cook and eat us.."

He points to mr satotz as everyone moves out of the way "Thats what he wants! To deceive the entire hunter applicants pool and feast on everyone of you!"

Everyone looks on in shock as you look boredom at your watch, kurapika looking the same before hearing Leorio fall for the trick

"Oh please everyone is so idiotic today, the man is lying stop falling for it Leorio" you say to him as the man growls, you go to talk back before hearing a noise

Your hand goes up to grab a card before it hits your face, your eyes widen in surprise as you head a body drop to the floor

Blood spills from the best up man as he lays there, Mr satotz in front holding up three cards as he looks at the applicants

Hisoka card folding being heard as he smiles "I see, I see... that settles it, so you are the real man."

Mr satotz doesn't say anything as he throws the cards to the ground, everyone looking more shocked as whispers start

There's a noise from the dead monkey man as he screeches, jumping away from everyone back into the forest

"The examiners are hunters, each is hand picked by the exam committee to do this job without pay. Anyone who holds the title were vying for ourselves could have deflected that attack, and quite easily I might add~"

"Then Why'd he throw one at you?" Kurapika questions as you look at the card, seeing the queen of hearts in it as you look at the man surprised

"I've underestimated a lot of people today..."
