Chapter 7

Neha called Dev to her home for a discussion regarding some important matter. Dev as a worried brother went there the next day morning only. Ranveer also participated in the discussion. It was regarding Neha's future course of action. Ranveer doesn't want Neha to stay at home only like a typical housewife so he wanted her to study further, Deva also supported his view and thanked God to give his sister such a caring husband. 

After the discussion when Dev was all set to leave Neha's house he unmindfully get hit in his hand and injured his right-hand wrist. Neha came with an ice pack and commanded Ranveer to bring Fast aid box. While Neha was busy in fast aid to distract Dev's mind from the burning sensation of antiseptic liquid Ranveer started a serious conversation with Dev.

Dev was busy in conversation so he didn't notice when Neha for her convenience to attain his wrist pushed back his sleeves further. As soon as the tattoos on Dev's arm came to her notice she stopped her work and stared at those in shock. Ranveer noticed that she stopped in the middle and asked "Neha what happen? Why you stopped?" 

Dev turned back to Neha and then followed her gaze in his arm when he again looked back at her she asked in a shocked voice "What this means Bhai?" Ranveer's eyes also fall on them and he said with a smile "Neha this means someone stole Dev's heart, your Bhai is in love. And let me guess her name is Sonakshi maybe. Devakshi sounds really great." 

Neha uttered the word "Soonakshii..." like she was searching for something in her mind and suddenly wide her eyes while uttering two words "Dr. Bose". It was rather an asking and Dev nodded affirmatively. After that there was a storm of questions from his sister "what! Dr. Bose and you!! Are you in a relationship? From when it is going on? Who knows about it? Is Ma has any doubt about that? Is her family know?" etc. etc. Dev answered every question of her.

Neha was in a mixed emotional state after knowing all those, She was happy for her brother as well as she was afraid for this much-in-love couple's future. She understood very well that Dr. Sonakshi Bose is too much important in her brother's life, he will be a broken soul if they get separated. From the conversation, she understood that Sonakshi also love her brother a lot and influenced him or rather say changed him for good. She also knew her brother's bond with their mother and Iswari's over-possessiveness and insecurities regarding Dev. 

She has a gut feeling they are going to face a big problem in the future from Iswari who will surely object to their relationship as she is not ready to share her son with anyone. She doesn't want her brother to face the situation where he will have to choose between the two most important persons in his life. She knows how much pain will her brother face in that situation. She suggested Dev keep it under wrap for some more time.

After Dev leave she remained restless. Her brother thinks that their mother will come around with time for his happiness but she knew their mother much better. She will never ever will be ready easily to share her son. She knew Iswari wants Dev to be controlled by only her and his undivided attention for her only. Neha has noticed jealousy in Ishwari's eyes when Dev spends too much time with his sisters also instead of her. 

Ishwari wants Dev to share everything with her, ask permission for everything and depend on her only like in their childhood days. The mother who is understanding in her daughter's case becomes rigid when Dev comes into the picture. She knew Iswari wants Dev to marry a girl of her choice who will not be able to impress Dev much for the only sake of family. 

She is ok with his not marrying at all but marrying a girl whom he likes and loves, which she will not permit. Neha really sometimes thinks about what kind of love this is to keep him all for herself ignoring his happiness, sorrow and pain. She thought to herself that she has to find a way to keep them together before their mother came to know about them but first she has to meet her and try to judge the depth of her feeling for Dev and establish a good friendship with her.

She was upset with her sisters for hiding this big truth from her and dialed Riya's number. She didn't disclose anything over the phone and asked them to meet her. She also called Sonakshi and ask for a one-to-one meeting. Sona who was informed by Dev about Neha's discovery readily agreed to meet her that day only.

 That day during lunch break Sonakshi met Neha in a nearby coffee shop and had a heart-to-heart talk regarding Dev. Sona understand Neha's concern for her brother and assured her that she will always be with him and look after him. After that meeting, Neha felt relieved, assured that her brother is in safe hands, and was touched by Sona's gesture and understanding.

 She instantly become fond of her and thought why she didn't make friends with her during those 3 months like Niki and Riya. After that meeting, she didn't only get a Sister-in-law but also a good friend and guide in Sonakshi. From that day she becomes Sonakshi for her instead of Dr. Bose.
