It had been about a week since we went to the Necropolis and I was feeling better then before. Most of my strength and power has been restored and I was bounding around the tavern like nothing ever happened. Which is why I was so excited when Meliodas came back into the tavern with a large grin lighting up his emerald orbs.
"The annual Vaizel fighting festival is today! We should sign up!" He squealed with delight which naturally made my brother clap his hands with joy and a wide smirk settle on my features.
"Girls, why don't you stay here and collect up some things we could use in the tavern." Meliodas turned to Elizabeth, Diane and I. I scowled at him and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Scared that now that I'm almost fully recovered I'll be able to beat you Meliodas?" I sneered, grabbing my small pouch of coins and strutting out of the tavern. There was no way in hell that I would pass up a fight festival. I could hear him and Ban chuckle behind me before scurrying after me, King flying a little behind us. We were hunting for Diane's secret treasure and it was last said to be seen in Vaizel so this whole trip wasn't entirely pointless.
"You're very confident Amihan." Meliodas chirped happily as he fell into step beside me. I shrugged.
"If you're good at something, why pretend not to be? Would be nice to be able to show off my true power anyways." I cracked my knuckles then my neck as we entered a marketplace. Ban was gonna sign us all up whilst I searched for a new outfit so I didn't have to fight in the tavern uniform. After around 15 minutes, my eyes landed on something perfect. It was a short sleeved pink bodysuit which showed off my chest and had a large cut out to show my toned stomach. There was matching knee high boots that had silver detailing and black buckles at the top. This was perfect for me. It would be easy to move in, looked stylish and I could easily hide my daggers under these boots.
I bought the items and went to a bathroom to quickly change into them, enjoying them even more once they were on my skin. I threw my silvery blue hair up into a high ponytail and made my way to the festival which would be starting very soon.
"I was starting to think you were bowing out already Amihan." Meliodas teased. I ruffled his shaggy hair and grinned at him.
"And miss the chance to beat your annoying ass? Never would I pass that up little Mel." I laughed as he swatted my hand away from his head, his cheeks a shade pinker then before.
"So we're on a nickname basis now Ami?"
"You're gonna have to try harder then that Ami." He cackled as I urged my legs to run towards him faster. I swung my completely black dagger at him, my right arm becoming covered in dark purple markings.
"So we're on a nickname basis now Mel? You're gonna have to beat me to be able to call me Ami." I huffed out as he easily dodged all my attacks.
"What the fuck?" I felt like the air had been knocked out of my chest as a weird scene played out in my head. Why was I fighting someone called Mel? And what was happening to my arm? I definitely looked younger then I did now so it must have been from when I was a teen but I don't remember that ever happening to me.
"What's wrong Amihan? You look like you've seen a ghost." Ban slapped my shoulder and peered down at me with concern. I shook my head and cleared my throat.
"Nothing. I'm fine. Come on, it's time for the first round." I shook off the weird scene and jumped onto the large rock which acted as the arena. There was a variety of people in the arena, but none of them threatened me. I knew I was strong and could easily beat any of these people.
The first round started and people began flying out of the arena at top speeds. One man charged towards me and threw a punch straight to my jaw. I spat the blood out at him and let out a low chuckle.
"Didn't anyone ever teach you that it's rude to attack a woman?" I flew my fist to his nose, breaking it in an instant. His hands flew to cover his nose so I took the opportunity to kick him in the stomach which sent him flying out of the arena.
"Oh come on, I thought this was going to be fun." I pouted, swinging another dude by his arm and out of the ring, knocking someone else out with him, like I was using him as a bowling ball. The round finally ended with only a few of us left standing. As we were all exiting the arena, I jumped onto Ban's back and ruffled his messy hair.
"Who woulda thought a weakling like you would survive the first round?" I chuckled at him trying to push me off. I knew Ban wasn't weak in anyway but I loved to tease him about it.
"I hope we get paired together Ami, I would love to kick your ass right now." He grunted as he finally managed to get me off of him. I gave him a sickly sweet smile.
"One can only hope brother." I patted him shoulder and headed to the waiting area where the pairs would be decided.
"My stomach is killing me because of the stress." King whimpered beside me. I turned to him and gave a brief hug.
"You'll be fine King, I'm sure of it."
The pairings were all announced until there's was only us 4 left. I was hoping for Ban in all honesty.
"The next pairing is Ami and Old Fart!" I rolled my eyes at my brother, knowing King was Old Fart. He's so unoriginal. But this meant that Meliodas would be against my brother. I knew both of them had a competitive streak in them so it would definitely be a very interesting watch.
