A week went by, and Tommy fell into a new sort of routine. He would patrol as Icarus when one of the other heroes would take him, he would work at Niki’s with Ranboo, and at night he would sneak out, dawning his Theseus suit and meeting up with Wasp and Ender for a patrol.

Even though Tommy felt kinda bad about hiding so much from Dream and the others, he really didn’t want to stop. No matter how guilty he felt, Tommy had, for the first time in his life, achieved some sort of freedom.

Tommy landed on the roof of Niki’s with a sigh, smiling at the feel of electricity coursing through his veins. He always felt more free when he could feel the lighting in his blood. It made him feel like he didn’t have to hide.

“Theseus!”

Tommy turned, smiling as Wasp landed on the edge of the roof, hurrying over to him. Tommy looked around for Ender, waiting for the hybrid to appear, but no purple particles shimmered into existence. Tommy turned back to Wasp, frowning.

“What’s up? Where’s-“

“We need your help,” Wasp said in a rush, wringing his hands together nervously, his wings shuttering at his back. “Ender and Blade were doing a job, breaking up what we thought was a drug ring, but something went wrong.”

Tommy stiffened at the mention of the Blade, but he nodded, taking a step closer. “What do we need to do?”

Wasp let out a breath, his antennae quivering. “We need to go help them, but I don’t know what the full situation is, so we’re walking into this blind.”

Tommy just nodded, stealing his nerves and focusing on the electricity running through his veins. “Ok, let’s go.”

…………………………..

Wasp had given Tommy an earpiece before they had arrived at the location, which was how Tommy now had both Ender’s and Blade’s voices filtering into his ears, causing him to wince every few seconds.

“Any time now, Wasp,” Blade was saying, the sound of metal on metal ringing through the earpiece and making Tommy flinch.

Wasp breathed deeply, moving forwards onto the roof of the warehouse, looking down through a large window, into the room below. Tommy followed him, looking down to see Ender and Blade below, fighting off at least ten guys, all dressed in suits with masks pulled over their faces.

“I’m working on it,” Wasp muttered, pulling a small black object from his belt and pressing it to the glass. He pressed something on the side and the object started beeping, a small red light flashing on the top. Wasp grabbed Tommy’s arm, pulling him back just as the thing exploded.

“Jesus,” Tommy yelped, nearly falling backwards off the roof. “A little warning next time.”

“No time,” Wasp said hurriedly, running forwards and dropping through the new hole in the glass. Tommy sighed, rubbing his temples, before following.
