The first thing Tommy noticed when he became conscious was that he was definitely not in his own bed. His bed in the Tower was somewhat hard, kinda like a slightly squishy rock. Whatever mattress Tommy was currently lying on was lumpy, but not uncomfortably so. The second thing Tommy noticed were the voices.

Two voices filtered into his ears, slightly muffled as though they were coming separated from him by a wall. They were talking softly, and they both sounded strangely familiar. Tommy couldn’t quite figure out why though.

After doing a quick check of all his limbs and important bones, Tommy resigned himself to getting up, pushing himself into a sitting position with a groan and making his way towards the door of the room he was in. The door opened up into a small living room and kitchen area, lit by a few flickering lamps spread throughout the room. Two figures were moving around in the kitchen, rattling pots and talking softly to each other. The taller one turned at the sound of Tommy’s approaching footsteps, his dual colored eyes widening with surprise.

“Tommy, you’re up! How are you feeling?”

Tommy frowned, looking from Ranboo to Tubbo then back to Ranboo. Was this their apartment? How had he gotten here? The last thing Tommy could remember was falling into a dumpster, and two people hovering over him, sounding very worried indeed. Two… people…

“Oh my god.”

Tubbo snorted, turning around to grin at Tommy. “Connected the dots? It’s nice to finally meet you, Theseus.”

Tommy ran a hand through his hair, eyes wide with shock. Holy shit. Ranboo and Tubbo were Ender and Wasp. The answer was right under his nose the whole time, how had he never noticed? How had they never noticed? It wasn’t like Tommy was particularly good at hiding who he was as Theseus.

“Nice to meet you too, Wasp,” Tommy replied slowly, frowning at Tubbo as the shorter boy only grinned wider.

“See? He’s somewhat smart! Though he definitely has a concussion.”

Tommy frowned, turning to look at Ranboo, who’s eyebrows were pulled together in worry. It struck Tommy suddenly that Ranboo’s Ender features weren’t visible. The slightly purple tint to his skin and his horns and ears, as well as his split colored hair, were gone. Turning to Tubbo, Tommy noticed that Wasp’s wings and antennae were missing as well. Tubbo caught him looking back and forth, and he seemed to figure out what Tommy was thinking, because he grinned again.

“We can hide our hybrid features. It’s a long story, but we weren’t born hybrids. We were born with powers.”

Oh.

Oh

Oh shit. So they were- they were like Tommy. They had powers and hybrid blood. Was it a coincidence?

Somehow, Tommy didn’t think it was.

“Pog,” he managed, suddenly feeling very dizzy. Ranboo stepped forwards quickly, frowning worriedly as he grabbed Tommy’s shoulders, keeping him upright.

“You should rest, Toms,” Ranboo said gently, pushing Tommy towards the one couch that sat in the middle of the living room. Tommy just nodded, dropping down onto the couch with a sigh.

“Wait- what about Dream?” Tommy thought suddenly, sitting up straight on the couch, ignoring the way the sudden movement made his head spin.

Tubbo frowned, pausing over the pot on the stove he was watching. “Dream? What about Dream?”

“He was the one who- he threw me off the roof.” Somehow, saying it out loud made it seem more real. And more terrible. Dream, Dream, the person who had raised him, the man he had thought of as a brother, had thrown him off of a building without any hesitation.
