Ron tilted back and forth on his feet as he stood by the gate. The people were beginning to trust him, yet didn't want him to be on actual duty, and that was why he had to stay down below and focus on opening the gate, keeping track of who left and who arrived. Ron wrote it all down, that way they had a track record of it all.

Carl had been gone for a couple of days with this girl their age on a trip to the library since Ron and Carl had failed on the mission. Even if Ron tried not too, he couldn't help but feel a slight annoyance that it was her and not him who got to go with Carl. He hated being jealous and hated even thinking about Carl getting on with her, cuddling up because it was cold just like him and Ron had done. The blonde kept telling himself Carl and him were nothing more than friends with benefits, and that Carl could fuck whoever he wanted, yet he felt horrible about it.

Ron didn't actually know what the two were actually doing, but from what he heard they had had something in the past.

"Are you ok?" Aaron suddenly got up to Ron from behind. "I'm fine, just-" He sighed, no one could know what he was feeling. "I'm just stressed. . . I want to be out there, like Mark and Myles." Ron shewed on his lip slightly. "Carl." He muttered.

"Right, you want to be out there." Aaron nodded. "Are you sure this isn't about anything else. I'm here for you, Ron." The bearded man smiled. "I'm sure." Ron nodded. "So, this isn't about Carl?"

"What about him? I- we. . . Pfft, why would this be about Carl!?" Ron laughed slightly. "We're still not in good terms, I don't give a fuck about him." Ron shook his head in defense of his feelings.

"Oh, really? I think you two are getting along great." Aaron grinned. "Well. . . yeah, sure- Whatever." Ron tried brushing it off, as Aaron shook him by the shoulder. "I'm happy you found someone like him, even if you two are a crazy pairing. Don't lose him to your fear of whatever you're feeling." He smiled, before walking away confidently, leaving Ron standing by the side awkwardly. Of course, he knows.

Even if Ron had tried to hide how upset he was and hide whatever he felt whenever Carl was just around Aaron had caught up and seen what was happening. Ron wasn't sure how he felt about it.

A few moments went by of Ron standing there looking dumb, he let out a slight groan.

"Yo, Ronnie." A brunette girl yelled from on top of the gate. "Open it, Carl and Lizy are back." She commanded and Ron nodded. "Yes ma'am." He mumbled and began pulling the gate up after opening a lock. "Don't call me ma'am." the woman laughed as Ron had gotten the gate up. "Sorry." he muttered, watching Carl and the girl he was with arrive back. "All good." The woman from on top of the gate said, as Carl glanced over at Ron with a smile.

Ron blinked a few times, before sighing and looking down at the ground. He quickly shut the gate and locked it firmly once again as Carl got off of the horse.

"Ron!" His voice echoed through Ron's head. "Hey." He mumbled. "I thought about you while we were gone." Carl tried to chair him up. "Sure. . . Let's uh- Let's catch up later." Ron turned to look him in the eye. "Alright?" He asked, and Carl nodded. "All good by me, if it's tonight." He smiled, and Ron shrugged.

"Whatever."

Carl couldn't stop but think something was off, Ron was so weird and sad and just, off? "Be at your house tonight, around six after dinner?" Ron then asked, and Carl sighed. "How about dinner together, I want to cook with you, Anderson." Carl smiled. And Ron backed away. "Don't make it obvious." He whispered; Carl was the only one who heard.

"Make what obvious?" He mumbled. "That we fuck." Ron looked away. "Aa-" Carl muttered. "Besides it's just that, fucking." Ron shrugged. "I know. . . Still, how does the dinner sound, as buddies?" Carl crossed his arms. "Neat." Ron nodded. "I'll see you later." A pause. "Man."
