Chapter 13; Alayna

I found the key under the large plant Hayden's grandmother kept in from of their house. Quickly opening the door I threw a hello to Julie, his grandmother who in return gave me a look. She hated people, especially Hayden's friends. However, I found it necessary to continuously walk right through their house no matter how much I was disliked for doing so.

Walking up to Hayden's door I opened it without a second thought, suddenly I came into view of my two closest friends shirtless and on top of one another. "Jesus, Alayna don't you ever knock?!" Hayden complained as he made his way over to where their clothes were lying.

Dylan's face heated up as she threw her sweatshirt overhead. "Relax Hayden, I see Dylan shirtless all the time." I told him.

"What do girls do at sleepovers?" He mumbled to himself, not exactly expecting an answer. But he got one anyway.

"Oh, the normal stuff, comparing boob sizes, skinny dipping, mud fights, why what do you do?"

Dylan laughed as Hayden rolled his eyes and made way for his computer chair. "When did you even get back?" She asked.

"Last night, Kam got back in the morning though. She ran from Jay's pack house when she recovered from her slight hangover."

"What happened?" Dylan's eyes grew wider.

"Oh, well, we went to this party looking for Danny, and she found her mate Jay, and she just didn't know what was going on, so she ran and left me with the two idiots for the rest of the day." I complained.

"She found her mate?! Why didn't she tell me? Seriously, I'm her best friend. Wait, Jay, like Jay Mathews?" The expression on her face was priceless as she realized who Kamren's mate was. I nodded. "He's so cute!" She beamed. Hayden cleared his throat to remind her that he was still in the room and that he didn't want to hear about her fantasies with the wolves from other packs. "Wait did you call the alpha, Danny? You haven't done that since sophomore year. Are you finally friends again?" I blushed as Hayden joined our conversation.

"Come on Dyl, can't you see her face? She and Dan are mates." He told his girlfriend who let out a squeal. I smiled, Hayden knew me too well, or, maybe Danny told him. Whatever the case may be, they both knew, which made telling them a thing in the past. "So, why are you here? Interrupting us."

"I know, I'm sorry. It'll just take a couple minutes. Hayden, can I maybe talk to you alone? I asked. I knew Dylan would tell Danny as soon as he asked where I was headed. Although I'm almost certain he knew what I was about to do.

"I'm gonna go help Julie with dinner." Dylan got up and headed for the door.

"Make sure you're not dinner." Hayden joked and they both laughed. Julie certainly was an interesting woman. It would be no surprise to me if she did in fact serve a human for a meal.

Once Dylan was far from hearing distance, I sat on Hayden's queen sized bed. "So, Kamren was kidnapped by that dick that bit Liam." Hayden's eyes widened. "I need every inch of information you have about them. And please, don't tell Danny. Please."

An hour later I stepped out of my car. Just act like you know them Layne. You're a good actress. Hayden told me that the only three people who guarded the house while the pack when for dinner, which they were always back, sharply at 7:15. We had a couple men watching the house, so if I was in there for more than twenty-five minutes, they would know something was up. What I didn't understand is why they couldn't grab Kam.

I saw these guys pictures, Kennedy was twenty years old with a mate who he was marring in a week, Jayden. He was tall; they were both well-built and could easily take out a tank. The guy standing next to him was a bit shorter but I recognized him as Garrett, twenty-seven with a wife named Holly and a five year old named Kylie. Meaning the one guarding Kamren was Marcus.
