I unlock Bright's cell and ask him to come out. He hesitates but eventually does. Prim looks at me as if I've grown a horn, but she doesn't speak up. I hold Bright's shoulders and make him look at me.

"Listen. Once you step out of this cell and show yourself to everyone in the palace, you are off to have your own fight. I can't do that for you, but you can do it for yourself. I will be there, but I want you to claim pride and dignity for yourself, so there won't be a single person talking behind your back. So, are you up for it?" I ask.

"I- I think so," he says.

"Okay, then let's go."

When we walk out of the door, the guards look bewildered, but they make no comment. So we walk upstairs without an issue. Once we are out of the underground dungeon door, whispers spread out like wildfire.

"Prim, get him a new room. I am going to finish off what I've started. I'll be busy." I say as we part in different directions. Bright looks at me and walks in the other way as I make my way to my room.

Once I am in there, I make myself busy with the paperwork. I make a detailed proposal of my plans, the insights, and after it is done, I feel proud of myself. Also proud of the person who gave me these ideas.

The next day arrived in no time as I worked till 3 am. In the morning, the palace seems too quiet than usual. The eerie silence makes me feel nostalgic. But it isn't like I am working against my father. I am only trying to prove myself. So I know that I don't have any reason to worry about it.

I walk toward the throne room, passing the guards who look at me differently this time. I don't mind. I open the door to the room. The first person I see is my mother, who's at her usual seat waiting for someone. When she hears the sound of the door closing behind, she quickly jerks her head in my direction. When she sees that it is me, she quickly walks to me.

"Oh my god, honey. You are doing okay," she says as she pulls me into a hug. I feel safe in her hands, but the fact even she doesn't have her trust in me hurts. We hear footsteps, and as we break the hug, I see my father looking at us in distaste.

"So you got that rat out of the cell," he says.

"He's not a rat, father. And yes, I did." I admit.

"You have no idea what you are doing. He forcefully claimed you, and you took him out! What might the others think, huh? They'll think that incident wasn't an accident, but you have been in love with that commoner from the beginning. And that you made up a fake story." he scolds me.

"So what? What if they make stories? Those stories won't do any harm to me." I defend myself.

He sighs, "Are you here to boil my blood again, brat?" he asks.

"I am not," I mumble. "I am sorry for making you worry over me. But I want you to give me three months to fulfil this proposal." I say and hand him over the file I've prepared. He takes it out of curiosity and goes through it for just one minute.
