Eddie and I had been staring at each other in silence for what felt like forever but was really only 5 minutes. His eyes were gleaming from the lamp post outside the window, casting a shadow on the side of his face.
"Can I kiss you?" He asked, leaning in closer to me. Both his hands were wrapped around my waist and I rested my hands on his arms. The cold metal of his rings on my bare waist, sent a shiver through my body.
"I- Eddie, are you sure?" I couldn't fathom that he actually wanted to kiss me. That he was asking before he did it. He wanted me in this moment, even if it was just a friendly kiss. Sure, friends kiss once in a while.
"Of course I'm sure, what kind of question is that?" He laughed as a small smile crossed his face. "Are you sure?"
"Just kiss me, Eddie." He brought both hands to my face, cupping it as he closed the distance. Our lips met with a jolt of electricity that shot through my body. His lips were so much softer this time. My stomach was doing backflips as Eddie's hands slid down my back, grabbing at my waist to pull me closer. I wrapped my arms around the back of his neck, with my hands in his hair.
"Can I lay you down?" He mumbled against my mouth and I nodded. His kiss was everything I needed, as he gently pushed me back onto his bed. He used one arm to prop himself over me, while the other squeezed my waist below him. His kisses became less gentle and more passionate. His breathing got heavy and I felt something poking my leg. I wasn't the least bit uncomfortable, but we needed to stop. I needed to go home. I pressed my hand to his chest to push him back a little. He smiled down at me as he brushed some hair out of my face.
"Eddie, I should go home."
Shit, I moved too fast didn't I? My fucking dick betrayed me, Eddie thought to himself. He pulled himself off of me and walked over to his dresser. He pulled out a shirt and handed it to me.
"Sorry, I forgot to give you one." He turned away from me. He got himself a shirt and walked out of his room as he put it on. I grabbed my still damp clothes off the ground and changed into them instead. When I walked out of his room, Eddie sat on the couch smoking a cigarette while I sat on the ground to put my shoes on.
"Where are the dry clothes I gave you?" He asked as he approached me as I sat on the ground tying my shoes. He was towering over me, looking down at me.
"I can't just wear your clothes home." I stood up and opened the door. The rain had stopped and it was a bit chilly. Eddie grabbed his keys off the counter and followed me out to his van. I got in before he could open the door for me.
"Evie, did I do something that made you uncomfortable back there?" I turned to Eddie who was ghost white. "Because I never want you to be uncomfortable around me. I didn't mean to get-"
"Eddie, everything was fine. I- I didn't mind. It was actually tame compared to..." I trailed off as Eddie looked over at me. His look made me feel so ashamed of what Andy and I had done.
"He never made you..?" I brought my knees to my chest and wrapped my arms around them. He must have known I didn't want to talk about him. The ride home was so quiet that I fell asleep. When I woke up, Eddie was unbuckling me.
"Oh, I didn't mean to fall asleep," I said rubbing my eyes.
"I didn't want to wake you so I drove around for a little bit." He had a shy smile forming on his face as I turned to him to get out.
"You could have just woken me up."
"You just look so peaceful when you're asleep." My cheeks began to warm up at his words and I turned my face away from him as I smiled. I began up the porch steps and Eddie followed behind. "How late is Gareth working tonight?"
