The ride to Yoshida's place was mostly silent on my end, as my head leant over completely in the leather seat, my shoes twiddling together solemnly. Every now and again, he'd attempt to make friendly conservation with me, but mostly we stayed rather silent on the ride.

I don't think I could do this at all, I was getting nervous just thinking about being alone, unprotected, without Denji.

Today I wore my Chainsaw man shirt, thinking it would give me extra confidence. And though it did cheer me up and remind me of Denji, I really still missed him.

My heart burned for him pitifully.

I missed the warmth of his body, the softness of his plush neck, his wild little blonde hairs, and his beautiful amber browns. Browns that could tell thousands of stories yet could still be charming and loveably soft eyes.

I missed his gaze, like sunshine glittering on my purposeless body. And his touch, which sent electrifying jolts up my skin. I also missed his laugh, and his thoughts, the words that he said, and the faces he could make.

Gosh, I know this is stupid but maybe Yoshida was a little right.

It had only been ten minutes into the car ride, so eleven minutes since I had last saw Denji, yet I felt like my world was ending.

Even worse, I wanted to crawl back into his skin.

I've never had so much freedom than I did right now in my life, freedom that I craved with almost insanity. Yet with my first chance at freedom, I wanted to be locked up in another person's body again. Isn't that funny how that works?

When the vehicle came to a hault, Yoshida reached over to rest a hand on my shoulder, flashing me a gentle, kind, and very understanding smile. "Hey, we're here... Don't worry, I'm sure you'll love it." He reassured me, his thumb gently caressing me.

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I felt my heart beat in the wrong place. I can see why he's popular with girls, he actually is pretty handsome. But he's nowhere as good looking as Denji. Softly, he pulled away from me, stepping out of the car and rushing to the passenger's seat, opening the door for me. "C'mon, out." He called, and a little too obediently, I nodded and got out.

"I'll show you around."

After touring the outside of the house for a bit, Yoshida showed me around his home, bumping into his devil hunter family along the way. They were... They were different, but then again I wasn't even sure how a family was to act, I never even had one.

Yoshida had a two story house though, not an apartment. And honestly it felt like it was pulled straight out of a movie with how nice it was. He had a spare bedroom for me to sleep in, all packed with a desk, closet, empty bookshelf, comfy bed (with an actual bedframe), and a vanity. I didn't want to fully unpack, but then again I only had like six pairs of clothes so it wasn't even much to repack anyways.

After I warmed up to my room alone, Yoshida came back in to check on me, and now we were sitting on a fluffy rug together, with him helping me try jasmine tea for the first time.

"You got to blow on it before drinking or it'll burn your tongue really bad, okay?" Yoshida chimed, slowly passing me the hot teacup. "Mmhm," I nodded again, bringing the beverage to my lips and blowing gently. After a few shared sips between the two of us in comfortable silence, Yoshida brought his teacup from his lips again.

"Do you like it?" He perked, and I could only nod. He sighed at my reply, his tender eyes falling a little sadly. But in a second, he shook away his sadness, replacing it with a smile. "I think jasmine's my personal favorite, it's relaxing, and has a very distinct, rich favor. I normally pair the tea up with a desert, but we're a bit out of those." He chuckled.

"I like it..." I quietly spoke between sips, finally setting the teacup empty back down on the tray. "Finished? Well that's fine, I'll take away these okay? If you ever need me, don't hesitate to find me, kay?"

"Mmhm, I will."

"Good girl. I'll be back to get you for dinner."

I take it back, he's annoying again.

Or... Were those Denji's old thoughts and not mine?
