"Gaaaah! We gotta ride the coasta', come on (y/n)!"
"Don't get ahead of yourself you two!"
"We... Psh! As if I'd ride that... That roller coaster! Haha... I'm too strong for it, the seat might give in!"
"What are you scared?"
"Shut up human!"
Joyous laughter, shrills, and thrillers filled my ears as I ran forward with Denji, desperately dodging the swings tossed at me by a certain girl. Today was going to be a fun, uneventful day at the amusement park! Countless children ran by, some accompanying their friends, other their parents; in all they were together with some sort of family. And here you were with yours. In the far distance laid countless rides, a small handful reached staggering heights; I could only look to them in great awe. The previous coaster in question was an average sized roller coaster, one that looked to have a medium-sized thrill rate.
Yet I couldn't think about all of those too long, as I suddenly realized
Denji held his hand in mines. That little notice alone slowed time, as our feet collided with each time. His warmth sparked up my fingertips, and pulled my heart so hard I swore it skipped a few beats. Then, his face truly sold the deal. As he ran, his mouth was extended out wide, his eyes stolen away with glee, while his hair swayed in his sprint. His eyes glowed with a youthfulness that I hadn't seen before from him. All sugarcoated over with an innocent, overly-immature, delight.
I didn't see that hidden sadness, those stories his eyes could tell, or even regret. He was free, truly free —all while living his best life.
That stirred something deep in me, bursting away my sorrows and glowing me in a bright yellow aura. I could feel a big smile stealing my face, my head shaking as I ran forward with him, laughing childishly. It was like years of torture curled down my spine and into the wind, making me feel all the more younger.
"I got you now! Woman!"
Before I knew it, a pair of hands wrapped around my shoulders, a crashing body flinging straight into me. The weight caused me to trip, my body flying forward as I crashed straight into the ground. "Argh!" I cried. My face plummeted straight into brick, my nose caving in and burning intensely.
"YAARR!" The girl gruffed.
"Power!" Denji barked.
"Power... Off now, I won't tell you again," a man's voice hushed, his steps heavy as he closed the gap.Ooh, that's right.
I'm in one of Denji's daydreams right now.
He always wanted to go to an amusement park, didn't he? But this... this was an old daydream of his... Back when... Back when Makima was his friend.Makima that...
Huh?Oh!
Makima is...Makima is my friend!
What else could she be?My memories are fogging up but... This is the true world!
I'm fifteen, my name is (Y/n) and I was Denji's classmate turned best friend! I have a big crush on him, but he doesn't know it yet. He's too busy looking at Makima to see me, but that's fine; as long as I get to spend every day with him!
"Grr okay! Only because it's not right for the president to be behaving like this in public... Feeheehee! You know what I realized!" Power ranted on as she stood up, rushing to Aki's side as she barked. I could only groan as I fell over onto my back, holding my stomach tightly while Power's voice marched on in the background. "Gwaah! (Y/nnn)," Denji cried. Soon enough, the boy fell beside me, his hands passionate as he grabbed my shoulders. "Powyy! Don't do that! She's frail!!"
