The air blew solemnly from the vent above, invading the room with a cold, chilly blow. Gently, my hands reached up to cup the cheek of the sleepy, groggy boy before me, his eyes parted and staring into mines with deep vulnerability, while a string of drool drubbed from the corner of his mouth.

He was the type to so easily fall asleep, and when he did, he was a hard sleeper. But now look at him, all cuddled up into my touch, wild blonde hair flying in all different directions.

He was irresistibly cute, I could seriously just kiss him.

Honestly it took everything in me just not to.

"Denji," I whispered delicately. The boy only "mmr"ed at me, his lazy eyes peeking from under his heavy eyelids. "Are you comfy?" I continued, a soft heat rippling to my cheeks. In confusion to my little question, the boy would sit up in the bed, staring down at me with his propped hand.

Like a tired dog, he readjusted himself over me, pinning his arms against my sides. Groggily, he plopped his head down onto my chest, nuzzling me with many hums and murmurs.

Guess that answers my question sufficiently, huh?

Gently, my fingers reached up to tangle deep into his hair, my eyes beaming at the sight of the boy snoring into me. I traced soft pictures into his scalp, causing a pleasant, satisfied grumble to fall from his lips. "dream... girl..." he followed.

My heart was warm and fuzzy in my chest, and it took everything in my power to not squish him to death from his cuteness. My hands had hugged his body close, as my mind riveted under the weight of him; while my arms stretched out wide to hold all of him.

This little lonely cuddle bug just needed someone to care for him.

I'm glad, truly happy, that the one who came to his aid was me.

I won't ever leave you, Ji.

I won't allow you to be alone anymore, I promise.

In the heat of this sleepy moment, a suffocating nervousness (powered by the fluttering feeling of love) clogged my breath. My fingers stopped in between the golden locks I was once playing with, causing needy hum from the half-asleep boy.

It was in this very same sleepy moment that the realization dawned on me.

I truly,
I loved Denji.

My heart pounded in my chest at the realization.

I loved the boy of my memories, in all iterations of his time.

His past, his present, and his future forever more.

Slowly, I hooked my hands under the sleepy boy, pushing him up just a little by his shoulders. He only groaned at the movement, but when I finally had enough space, I pressed lips straight into the soft, plush skin of his cheek.

Now that-
that woke him up quick!

His eyes would pop open, his spiky, pointy teeth popping out of his mouth for the world to see. He soon began to slowly support his own weight on top of me, his eyes blinking away his sleep as he yawned. Eagerly, I released my hands from holding him up, now reaching to hold both of his cheeks in my palms.

I couldn't let this moment past, not while I was this confident!

I was going to kiss him!
My eyes lidded hazy, a distant, captivating gleam growing in my pools as I held him. I could feel his excitement rising to his cheeks against my palms, a confused but obedient look on his face. He was nervous, with me more so than him.

I burned with admiration for him, of him, and faithfulness to him forever more.

While I was sick,

"(Y/n)..."

and now in health.

In a blink, I pulled his lips to mine for a kiss, my eyes fluttering closed.

Our lips crashed in unexpected inexperience, but our beating, rupturing hearts guided us to the right pace. I learned to kiss deep into the rhythm Denji was struggling with on his own, and when we found unity it was like sparks flew in body; electricity popping down my body in a deep shudder. A groan slipped past my lips at the sensations, causing Denji to huff into me. His hands feigned awkward atop me, laying by my sides as they pinched and fidgeted with the fabric of my shirt. His eyes fell closed sweetly soon after, his nose brushing against my cheek gingerly.

This was too much.

My hands had somehow found their way back to his hair, dragging my fingers through it desperately as our breaths grew heavy, my other hand sliding to hold his shoulder. Our oxygen was slowly running out, and our short bursting kisses were forced to end.

As the friction between our lips regrettably came to a close, our panting filled the space; ending up alerting a few stray dogs, that slept once very peacefully, on the couch. But my eyes didn't one dare to leave the vulnerable, pleading, obedient gaze he locked me in.

He was needy, so needy, he needed me in his life.

He needed me, he needs me.
I'll forsake all others for him, my Denji.

I could see the pain he often locked away just in the horizons of his ambers, and in the back of brain I was reminded of the experience.

Was it he who saved me, or I that saved him?

"(Y/n)," he panted with a stutter.
"I lo— I really like... being around you," I muttered breathlessly, causing a break in the expression of the boy above me. His features cracked into a surprised, overjoyed, doting look, his eyebrows furrowed deeply in pure love.

"I l-like being around you too, (y/n)." He sighed enchantingly, a contagious, giddy smile spreading across his lips. Before I knew it, I found myself giggling in his presence, his body leaning down to shove his heated, tomato-red face into my neck.

"You're my dream girl," he muttered breathlessly back, a squeaky tone found in his voice. Slowly, my fingers found their way to his clothed back, rubbing soft circles into the muscular figure. From one touch alone I could feel the stress and strain trapped in his back—all that work from devil hunting.

But it only made him more irresistibly charming.

Eagerly, he flopped down atop me, his forearms propping him up a bit; his shy amber eyes lost helplessly in mine. "I-I'll take good care of you," I stuttered back, a blush creeping down to my neck at the words. Denji only giggled at me, his smile bigger than life itself. He had been crushing me with his weight this entire time, but honestly I didn't mind much of it, it was more comforting than anything else.

Besides it gave me freedom to do this!

Swiftly, I tucked my fingers under the boy's shirt, my cold fingers frosting against his back. Instantly he shot up a little, groaning as his sweet face twisted in utter despair. "So cold!" He barked, his loud voice echoing across the room. "Ji! Shh," I whispered yelled back, but he only whined.

"S'coolldd!"
He boomed louder!

I just removed a whole lot of extra romance scenes, as well as (y/n)'s confession, from this chapter. I edited it out so it could fit the timeline of CSM 106-107
