Chapter 31: Desperate Preperations

That harmonic energy needs to be severed somehow. I need to think of a way to destroy it and fast. Lucina rubbed her forehead. Maybe I can do something to get rid of it.

Riona stood beside Sola and Riff with a grin. "What's the matter? Getting a little nervous with this many people coming to fight you?"

"Yeah right! I'll face a million fools by myself if I have to." Lucina closed her eyes and a wave of dark energy flew out from under her. It soon swarmed through the streets and created a large dragon from the shadows.

"Hey, Riona. We may just be simple humans without any real power but we got heart." Sola held a machine gun in his arms. "Allow my team to take down the shadow dragon."

Yubi chuckled at him. "That's our leader, thinking he can do everything." She smirked.

Fern exhaled loudly as he carried a bazooka. "It's fine. My brother is always prepared to face the odds. Especially since Tex is here and watching us."

"Ahem, that's not the only reason why I'm so confident. It's because I have all of you here beside me." Sola smiled at them.

"Can we fight now?" Rico asked. "I may be blind but my other senses have a knack for helping out."

Sola nodded to him and rushed down the street to the shadow dragon. "Let's take this thing down crew!" He fired at the monster and hollered out a battle cry. Yubi and Fern chased after Sola while Rico retrieved a bottle from his shirt. He fumbled with a match until it lit and he sprinkled dust into the bottle before shaking it.

Riona faced Lucina as green energy spiraled over both arms and legs. "I have one technique that will end this fight. Riff, will you be able to help me create an opening?" She asked.

"Sure thing! Come on, boys." Riff flexed his muscles and sprinted down the road.

"Hold on before you rush off to death!" Hobs yelled. "We aren't that quick you know?"

Terry trailed after the two with a grin. "Yeah, wait up and we'll jump this gal all at once." He snickered.

Riff glanced back at them with a reddened face. "Oops, sorry you two. Frenze, Shred, hurry up before we leave you in the dust!"

"Another group, huh? Why don't you face this thing instead!?" Lucina exclaimed. The shadows rose from the ground and manifested into a giant snake.

"Woah, looks like we got a big problem to deal with," Frenze responded.

Shred skidded to a stop and stared up at the snake. "Alright, we should stop this monster first before we continue." He exhaled.

Riona narrowed her eyes and sprang into the air. "Damn, she's going to keep them busy with those shadow beasts. I'll just make an opening myself." She struck a building and kicked off the roof with energy trails behind her.

"That's right, come to me instead so we can fight." Lucina clenched her jaw and narrowed her legs. With a long inhale, she held an arm out and dark energy gathered into it.

I can make my harmonic energy. It can be used with darkness if I just mimic what Lucy and this girl does. She soon flashed a toothy grin.

The two clashed and a shock wave emitted between them. A crater formed with a building falling over to Lucina. She sliced it in half and leaped into the air with her wings extended. Dark energy quickly rained down on the town and set the buildings ablaze with hellfire.

"You shouldn't have tried to force me into close range, Lucina. I need to do this move right on you!" Riona yelled. Her body emanated with energy before she slammed her head into Lucina's. The two collapsed onto the ground and lost consciousness.
