LILA COULDN'T SLEEP. Every hour she kept on waking up, she looked at her window from her bed checking the sky. Steve's slight snores, crickets chirping were the only things that were heard. The dream kept coming into her head. She kept having the same dream of will being taken over by the spider like monster.
The next morning she called Nancy but no one picked up the phone. She had finished getting ready to go drop dustin off at school and heading to her school.
she honks her car horn. "hurry up dustin!" she yells.
"coming!" he yells running inside the car. he looks at his sister, she looks exhausted like she had no sleep.
"hell, did you even sleep?"
she shakes her head. "i cant stop thinking about what i dreamed and then will gets his episodes."
"yeah, it's pretty scary." he says.
he stays silent.
"are you okay?" she turns to look at dustin.
"yeah...well no, how do you know when you like someone?" he asks, turning to look at his sister driving.
"well, when you like someone you feel something in your stomach, you feel these butterflies every time you look at them. when they are around, all you want to do is stare at them. you feel your face redden not from embarrassment but the emotional feeling you feel seeing them."
"what emotional feeling?"
"you know, you feel...you just can't describe how you feel when you see them. you just see the most beautiful creation." all she thought of was steve.
"so basically when you look at someone you love you just can't describe the feeling because they're that beautiful?" he repeats.
"mhm"
"there's this girl...she's got these beautiful blue eyes, her tiny freckles, and her smile, well she doesn't really smile but when she does...wow." dustin let out a breath. this girl just takes dustin's breath away.
lila smiled. she was happy just by the way he smiled describing this girl.
"write her a love note."
"why?...i could show her dart but he's long gone by now."
"love notes take a girls heart away, it makes them go crazy. never ignore them and don't be careless, they would never like you if you do that."
