THE SMELL OF POPCORN AND THE NEW THEATERS THAT OPENED AT STARCOURT MALL. steve and lila decided to have their movie date with no demo dogs getting in the way for the first time. she went ahead to save seats for him, while he grabbed the snacks.
"hey steve." jennifer said.
"hi jennifer."
"the usual?"
"yup but can i get some milk duds too and a extra drink."
"sure thing. how are you and lila doing?" jennifer asked as she was scooping him popocorn onto a bucket.
"we're doing great. we're already a year into the relationship so so far so good." he leans on the counter smiling.
"did you bring anyone extra?" she says looking down at the candy she gives to him.
"no. it's just for uh...lila." he chuckles leaving the counter heading over to their theater room. he spots lila waving over to her direction. he sits down next to her.
"you look amazing." he said scanning her body at the outfit she wore.
"you look so handsome tonight. i can't wait to head back home tonight." she smirks touching his bomber jackets collar. they both start to lean in but their popcorn got snatched and popcorn fell onto steve's jacket.
"you're late again!" dustin complained stuffing popcorn inside. they both decided to take him to the movie theaters before he had to leave for boot camp.
"no i am not. the movie hasn't even started yet."
"this is the second time you're late to the movies and this one was suppose to be special because im leaving soon!"
"jesus okay im sorry." steve said smacking away the popcorn off of him.
"you want to know how many people wanted your seat especially boys."
steve moves his heading facing lila. "boys were trying to sit here?"
"uh yeah but dustin pushed them away and then girls wanted to sit in your spot but i pushed them away and dustin got mad."
"and what was he going to do woo them with this vest?" steve said grabbing dustin's vest.
"i been telling you to stop wearing it. you've been wearing that this whole week."
"you bought it for me so technically this your fault because if you haven't gifted it to me, i wouldn't be wearing it for a whole week."
lila shushes them. dustin spilled his milk duds onto the popcorn.
"why you do that for? i wanted to eat the popcorn!" lila wines.
"it's better this way. sweet and salty in a single bite." dustin shoves the popcorn into his mouth.
"henderson." steve smiles picking up his drink.
"you're a genius."
"tell me something i don't know." they both cheer with their drinks.
"i seriously haven't been liking this bromance you guys have going on." lila said as she ate her popcorn on her own.
dustin shushes her. "the movie is starting."
steve puts his arm around lila as she snuggles to him while he slurps his drink. Back to The Future appeared on the screen. the movie dustin has been anticipating on watching since they first announced it. but before the opening of the movie ended, the lights went out in theaters and all over hawkins.
dustin and steve look at each other and began booing at the screen. lila threw her popcorn at the screen frustrated.
