He watched the play of emotions in those gray eyes that he loved, and he could have sworn that in those stormy depths he saw lighting flash. He couldn't take his words back, and he wasn't sure that he wanted to. He knew what they said, sure, but that didn't mean that he wouldn't be honest with her. Because hell if he could fucking stop those words from escaping, but that thought was hot; probably a fantasy he wasn't aware he wanted to happen. In fact, he wasn't much into having fantasies, for the most part, he did what he wanted with his partners. But that, yeah, that was one he didn't know he had and now wanted to fulfill, and hell if he had any clue how to do that.
He also noticed as he watched her, that she was shivering in his arms. He glanced around, feeling the chill himself, and then turned to the fire. Though the flames were still going, it wasn't strong, and all the heat they had been feeling was what was between them, not from the heat of the flames. He also glanced at the table side, battery-operated clock, and noticed it was almost 9. He smiled as he looked down at her and she returned it.
"Your cold baby. I think we need to get into bed." Her eyes opened and he shook his head. "I didn't say sleep, I said bed. I'm not giving up any extra seconds that I can with you, Rachel."
"I didn't want to either." He gave her a light kiss before grabbing a blanket and wrapping it around her.
"Stay here while I get the fire going in the room." She pulled him down for one more kiss and then winked at him. Yeah, her eyes raked over him, and he wasn't surprised she winked because he knew her, he knew she liked what he saw and that there was still more pleasure to come. And as he walked back to the room, for the first time that he could think of, he wished the time to slow down and for morning not to come. If now was all they had, then he wanted time to stop and to experience the moments with her forever. But he was also realistic, and he just knew that wouldn't happen, that Jay would pretty much kill him for wanting any type of relationship with Rachel. He had never fought his best friend, never threw a punch, or uttered a word, but he was also starting to re-think that outlook and wonder what would happen. And that couldn't be good.
Jake turned down the bed and then started the fire. At least Rachel had already been in for a couple of days, enough to have logs and the fireplace going. He watched the flames lick the logs, making sure it was a steady fire before he walked back out of the room. He stopped in the hallway to watch her as she huddled into the blanket, and he had to shake his head at himself. And though he wanted to dwell in the thoughts of the future, he wouldn't. Again, now is what mattered and now was what he was going to savor.
He strolled up behind her and then crouched down, wrapping his arms around her. He could feel the grin and it almost took him off guard. They stayed like that for a few more moments before she shivered and he finally lifted her up, letting the fire die out, and took her to the bed, where he pulled the covers up tightly over them. She smiled up at him before her eyes closed and he let out a breath.
His fingers brushed her hair back and he was half tempted to wake her up, wanting to see those gorgeous clouds again. But if he wanted any fun to happen anymore, she needed to rest, for she had come harder than he had, and more times. He brushed a kiss over her forehead and grinned as she curled up to him in her sleep. He knew he couldn't let her sleep long, figured she would kill him if he did. Although, if she did kill him, he would want her to be on top of him, riding him hard, calling out his name because to him, the best way to die was during sex; preferably with her.
Which, brought him back to her fantasy. With every fiber and every cell within him, he wanted to achieve that for her. Okay, honestly, the mere thought of any man getting that treat actually made him see red and he wanted to fuck them up any way he could, and there wasn't anyone even there! He might have even been grateful that she didn't share with her ex too. Not that he could picture that asshole giving her what she wanted, what she needed. Well, maybe he couldn't picture it all. How that woman would have remained satisfied was really beyond him.
He glanced back down at her, taking in her features, and even in her sleep, she was so sexy to him. So, maybe he was lying to himself when he said he wasn't sure he wanted a future with her, because looking at her now, he could picture falling asleep every night in her arms and waking even morning the same way. But he was smart enough that those images couldn't stay, that he couldn't long for it. Fuck, he didn't even know how to bring up that subject to Jay, let alone have it. He just knew his best friend too well, Jay would see only bad in that.
Jake rubbed his hands over his face and finally laid down, pulling her into his arms. Her head found his chest and he let out a sigh. This was perfect to him, she was perfect. And she fit so right against his body, just like she was really made for him. He sighed, his lips brushing over the top of her head and even in her sleep, he could feel her smile. With his own smile tugging at his lips, he let his eyes drift close, intending to only catch a little cat nap.
Three hours later, he woke up to someone kissing his chest and he smiled. Yeah, that was a feeling he could get used to. He laid back on his back, his eyes still closed, and she followed, her hands running along his sides and hips. Finally, he peeked an open and looked down at her, the sight more breathtaking than he wanted to admit. Her hair had looked like his fingers had entangled themselves in it plenty of times and tugged; her lips were still swollen from all his kisses. And her eyes, fuck her eyes, they were bright with happiness and passion.
"What are you doing?" he asked, cupping her cheek, and running his thumb over her lips.
"Waking you up. Why did you let me sleep?"
"You needed it, baby." She shook her head, and he pressed his thumb against her lips, silencing her. "I know you didn't want to, that our time is precious, and it is. But if you wanted anymore from me for the night, you needed the rest. I couldn't keep fucking you, you would have been dead to the world for days."
"But I like the thought of you fucking me nonstop, Jake, it's erotic." He chuckled and pulled her down for a kiss, her lips tasting like the sweetest drink to him. God, he loved her lips nearly as much as he loved her eyes.
"You can't do it, baby girl, I can't do it. I didn't mean to sleep, but I'm glad I did. I'm also glad you woke me up so that I can stroke the fire some." With that, he untangled himself from below her and stood up. He could feel her eyes on him as walked over naked and he didn't mind.
"Oh, you meant that fire." He glanced over his shoulder at her and watched as lifted her arms above her head and stretched, causing a new ache to build up. He bent down, displaying his ass for her, knowing she was enjoying the view as much as he had. She whistled and he glanced back again, lifting a brow. "I think it's illegal for a man to have such a good-looking ass." She lifted herself up on one elbow as he pushed the logs around and then turned back to look at her, knowing his semi-hard dick was on display and not minding it in the least.
"You think huh? Funny, for someone who likes it, you haven't grabbed it." He stalked over to the bed, kneeling over her, and grinned. "I like the thought of those nails digging into my ass as I fuck you harder and deeper."
"Oh, is that right?" Her arms looped up and around his neck, her nails lightly running up and down as well.
"Yup." He kissed the tip of her nose and she grinned.
"We still have a lot more time to play you know," she whispered, pulling him down for a kiss, which he happily gave into. His lips crushed her, his tongue flicking and twirling around hers. He could feel himself drowning in that kiss and he had no problems with that. She always gave as good as she got, no matter how he kissed her. If it was soft, she was soft; if it was fierce, she put just as much into it, and he loved it. It was past addicting to him. He finally pulled away and sat up, looking her over. His finger lightly ran around her areola before flicking against a hardened nipple, causing her to moan.
"I know we do, baby. What else shall we do? What else would you like from me?" Her eyes traveled toward the door before looking back at him.
"I want to taint my bed so memories can flood me all the time. I want to fuck on the floor before this fire. I would say the shower, but I don't have that. But I really want to fuck in Jay's room, against a wall, where we both know thoughts would always make us smile and he wouldn't get it."
