*Unknown POV*
"Is everything prepared brother?" a female's voice asked.
The man nodded.
"It is. Good. Amir's calmed down somewhat, he'll be coming out of holding soon. When everything starts he'll either have a choice of ignoring the people he loves so much or turning into the demon to save them." she sneered. "Begin the attack, brother"
The man smirked evily. "Of course sister."

*Serene's POV*
"Serene. You got another delivery, baby."
I looked up from the baby onesie I had just finished making and smiled as I saw mum walk in with a basket full of food and pastries.
It's been about two and a half months since I've settled back here and seven weeks since I met Katya. Since then I've been to and from her home, helping her out when I could and making things for her and her kids whenever I could. She still kept on insisting that she needed to pay me back for everything but I was firm in my decision. I then started receiving baskets of baked goodies, and other cooked food. I had smirked as I instantly knew who it was from. Because I was almost constantly at her home I got used to the scents that were used frequently, especially in her food.
It seemed like word had spread about me helping Katya, because soon I started receiving requests from other mothers in the village with the same issues Katya had.
They either couldn't afford clothes for their children or in some cases had asked me to watch their kids for them, in exchange they would stock up my mum and I with any extra supplies they could spare.
I was constantly confused about the state of the town and basically everyone that lives here. I couldn't wrap my head around why but I had a strange feeling that something else was going on and was the cause of all of it. Not to mention every time I asked my mother I knew the answers she gave me weren't the full truth.
All in all I was enjoying being back home and I rarely thought about my life prior to me coming back.
"Can you put those up with everything else mom? I got some deliveries I need to make."
She smiled and kissed my forehead. "Sure thing baby. You be careful okay?" Then she looked outside and her face changed. "Serene."
The severity of her tone made me turn to her quick. I was shocked by the serious look on her face. "If at any moment, something doesn't feel right to you...COME. HOME. Understood?"
I furrowed my eyebrows.
I'm just about tired of her vagueness.
"Sure thing mama." I said unconvincingly. She opened her mouth to speak but I quickly left the house.
I was halfway to the village, smiling and waving at the kids that played in the field, who yelled out my name.
I was just about to knock on Mrs. Lulier's door when a chill ran through me. I saw a shadow pass over me and everything seemed to move in slow motion.
Boulder after boulder lace in fire, started raining down on us. Screams on all sides could be heard, people running frantically for cover, homes and buildings being destroyed and smoke and debris filling up everywhere. Fire arrows and magic balls struck at every corner and people started dropping like flies.
Is this what my mother...
The scream of a child registered in my ear. I whipped my head around to see a little girl who I recognised as Lillia, one of the children I've looked after when her mother was busy. Her foot was stuck beneath some debris from a building that crumbled. I ran towards the crying child.
