I get it. This is what he meant when he said he had a plan. With me having this title…I would have no choice but to come and go from the Palace, and Diamanda won’t be able to say or do anything.
I chuckled and shook my head. Oh Amir you genius bastard.
I walked into the throne room of the Palace to see them all standing there. Seemingly idle as if they were waiting for me all with stupid huge ass grins on their faces.
I tried to keep the smile off my face but failed miserably. “You guys are so annoying.” I shook my head walking towards them.
“Maybe but you love us anyways.” Qasim said cheekily. I stuck my tongue out at him but returned his hug anyway. I did the same with everyone…and then there was Hazel. As soon as she could, she latched onto me to which I returned. I gently pulled away when I realised something.
“Hey, um, where’s…” I trailed off. Hazel scoffed.
“She stormed off after she heard. I doubt she’s gonna keep quiet for long though.” she replied, rolling her eyes.
“Mmm.” I then looked at all of them, noticing that mine and Hazel’s and Amir’s mother were deep in convo. I furrowed my brows slightly. I need to remember to ask how they know each other. I cleared my throat. “So, um…what now?”
They shrugged. However at that moment we all heard a growl coming from Amir’s direction and turned to see him eyes and hands clenched closed.
I walked slowly towards him. “Amir.” my breath hitched when i saw how black his pupils were. “When was the last time you fed?”
Everyone was silent as we waited for him to answer. He didn’t. But I could see he was barely keeping control. I sighed. Well I guess that answers the ‘what now’ question.
I turned to them. “I’ll see ya’ll in a bit, I need to hook him up.” they nodded and we parted ways. I grabbed Amir’s hand and quickly led him to his medical wing.
“Hurry up Rene.”
I jumped at the tone. “Is..is that you..Rhaan?”
“Yes. Now can you please hurry up and give me the bag before I lose control as well.” he asked through clenched teeth.
I hurried to do as he asked and watched as he scarfed it down. I could see the demon receding but Rhaan remained. He exhaled as he leaned back, the tension releasing from his body.
“Uh..Rhaan?”
He glanced up and smirked at the confused look on my face. “What? You do realise there’s three of us in one body but I’m the only one who hasn’t met you?” he feigned being hurt. I stared blankly at him and he chuckled and patted the seat next to him.
“Is this the first time you’ve taken control to keep Amir in control?” I asked quietly.
He sighed. “Yeah. I’m like a last resort for when Amir’s struggling to keep the demon under control.”
“I see.” then a thought hit me. “Say, about that, does the demon have a name? I’ve never heard it.”
He looked at me strangely. “Uh..no. No he doesn’t have one. Strangely enough…I’ve actually never bothered to find out why either…” he trailed off. It was quiet for a moment.
“Okay. Then can I give him a name?”
His eyes widened in shock. “Why..why would you want to?”
I shrugged. “It just…it doesn’t sit right with me. He deserves to have one. That’s what I think.”
He stared for a long couple seconds then smiled gently. “Sure.”
