PERSONALITY Calista, when she was first found in the secret laboratory, was shy and barely said a word to anyone; it took some time before she began to talk. As she grew older and with her training with Natasha, Clint and Phil, Calista became more cunning and sly in her intellect, always thinking three steps ahead of others. Having grown up isolated half of her life, Calista can be very socially awkward, and some call her quirky due to her sarcastic remarks and sassy behaviour. Still, she can be as equally quiet and shy around others. Calista is a friendly person, her first friend outside of S.H.I.E.L.D was Michelle Jones, who saw the feisty and bold girl hiding underneath the kind and caring new student. Calista is a loyal friend to those she sees worthy and can be headstrong in her opinions, usually on the optimistic side of things. Peter loves seeing the brave hero Calista can be and her caring side, having seen news reports of her helping after Avengers' missions and seeing the pride she takes in herself and the things she does. Calista is protective of those she cares about, having gone to extremes to get those she cares for out of danger, even teaming up with Steve to help his friend Bucky, who she knew as the Winter Solider during her time as a HYDRA experiment.
POWERS AND ABILITIES Powers Calista was taken from the hospital soon after her birth by HYDRA and experimented on with enhanced wolf DNA and improved vampire bat DNA that created her into a Wolf-Vampire Hybrid. Hybrid Physiology: The total limit of Calista's abilities is undetermined because of her pre-adolescence. Genetically, she is the most potent of immortals, possessing powerful attributes from each species and ferocity and bloodlust. Calista demonstrates a bestial blood rage when she reveals her true nature. This seems to be what triggers her power as, at first, she did not possess any hand-to-hand training or combat experience, relying on pure brute force to defend herself. Later, after training with Natasha, she became an expert. Superhuman Endurance: Even at such a young age, Calista has demonstrated remarkable resilience for a hybrid. She has been seen to nonchalantly cut herself with no visible discomfort, as well as quickly recovering from severe blunt trauma such as an overturned car. Even before consuming any blood, she has only shown moderated pain from a rather brutal slash, even ripping in half the head of the HYDRA agent that hit her. Superhuman Healing Factor: Calista possesses a potent healing factor, even in Hybrid standards. However, being deprived of blood for six years (since she was born and until she was brought to S.H.I.E.L.D) has weakened this trait of her to a seemingly human level. Still, after consuming blood for the first time, the bite wound healed remarkably, healing entirely within seconds. After she cut her arm several times, the cuts recovered near-immediately. She also could withstand an anaesthetic gas for a relatively long period before finally passing out. Superhuman Strength: Like wolves, Calista's strength seems to be triggered by intense emotions such as rage or fear. As a Hybrid, her raw brutality is sufficient to compensate for her age and lack of fighting experience even when confronted by transformed lesser wolves or an enhanced wolf. Calista's most remarkable feats of strength include tearing a lower human's head in half even while weak and wounded, holding a raging Hulk at bay with a wooden door, and finally tearing out the throat of a Chitauri. Fury believes that Calista is more powerful than any Hybrid alive. Razor-sharp Claws: As a hybrid, Calista possesses sharp nails in her hybrid form, capable of causing severe damage. Presumably, like her wolf counterpart, she can grow them without fully accessing her hybrid form. Superhuman Senses: Calista is shown sensing the approach of a team of HYDRA agents attack in Captain America: Winter Solider. She felt them before Natasha; in theory, her senses could be superior to any other. Superhuman Speed: She is shown disappearing in seconds, eluding police officers, HYDRA guards, Pietro, and even Thanos. Superhuman Agility: Calista can launch herself with extreme force, and she displays twists and flips when fighting. She can also jump high without difficulty, once jumping up a wall of a room about 20 feet tall, reaching near the ceiling quickly. Wall Crawling: Calista had demonstrated the ability to cling to walls, seemingly even without skin contact, as seen when she jumped up the fences of the room she was imprisoned in at the HYDRA Laboratory while trying to resist the effect of anaesthetic gas. Immunity to Silver and UV Light: As a hybrid of wolves and vampire bats, Calista is slightly immune to ultraviolet light and silver in any form. She can slightly burn in the sun, much like sunburn, if she stays too long, though the scientists within S.H.I.E.L.D came up with a potent sun cream that lets her stay out for longer. Silver is another of her weaknesses, she can withstand light amounts, but it still does some damage. Sensory Synchronization: She can perceive images and hear sounds from the perspective of those she has a strong connection. It is explained that when she is close to them, her brainwaves fall into sync with them, and she sees what they see, and they see what she sees, similar to a wireless network connection. This ability of sensory synchronisation is a random phenomenon rather than a controlled event. Immortality: As a Hybrid, Calista is immune to ageing and disease, and her life will last hundreds of thousands of years.
