After Octavia made her slightly dramatic yet perfectly fitting 'we're back to earth' call, everyone made their way out of the drop ship cheering.I slowly took a step forward, and then planted my feet on the ground. Holy shit. 522 to 1, that's the first time I've been lucky since , well I've experienced a lot in life and well luck was never a common experience, unless you count being born, smart as lucky. I never thought of it that way. All being a genius had ever got me was a dead mother, an abusive father, and a brain that I couldn't turn off.
Even breathing felt different. Just standing there changing oxygen, real oxygen in to carbon dioxide had never felt so amazing.
Now that I was here, the statistical part of my brain wanted to think of everything that could go wrong, but I was simply just so mesmerized by the beautiful planet that I was standing on. For the first time in my life, my brain actually felt completely empty.
The sky was absolutely beautiful. The trees stood as tall as I ever imagined. In a far distance, I looked around and I stopped in my tracks when I saw it.
A mountain.
A real life, actually existing mountain. If only my mother could have seen it.
I reached to my locket necklace as I stared at the mountian in front of me. She'd of got up out of her grave to see this, if she ever had one. I smiled at the thought of her being here.
I looked over and saw Jasper and Monty messing around. I hadn't seen Finn since we'd got here, and while I'd of liked to have the whole 'hey Clarke your dad is basically like the only father I've ever known and I know you probably don't know me or believe me but I worked with him, discovered the flaw on the Ark, and have your fathers death note for you in the pocket of my pants' talk with her, I thought I would enjoy this future historical event if pioneering earth for a few solid moments before I cracked open that can of drama. I made my way over to the two goofy boys.
"Hey googles!" I called out to Jasper as I made my way over. l
He looked kind of confused. "It's Jasper. we talked on the drop ship, I don't know like 30 minutes ago? Did stepping on earth give you amnesia?" he asked.
A slight laugh escaped my lips. "No, not yet at least. Googles sounded cooler."
"oh," he responded
Monty interrupted this time. "He thought you forgot his name because girls aren't really-" his mouth was covered up by Jasper mid sentence.
"You know I think Monty might be the one with earth amnesia!" Jasper said through a forced smile.
I smiled slightly, and laughed.
I loved the dynamic of these two. They're kind of like a breath of fresh air in the crazy world of me.
I saw Finn and Clarke walk back where everyone was standing, and took this as my opportunity to talk to the both of them.
"Hey i gotta go but I'll talk to you guys later Jasper.." I put emphasis on his name this time, "and Monty," the two awkwardly stumbled off, Jasper whisper yelled somthing nonsensical to Monty.
I walked towards Finn, who was just kind of wondering around where everyone was. I didn't see Clarke with him anymore.
"Finn!" I yelled out. I kept walking towards him, he's attention me.
"Hey" is was all he mustered up, looking slightly guilty for getting locked up just like me.
"You're such an idiot, in so many ways Finn Collins," was all I could get out.
