After the fiasco with Jasper in the drop ship, I wanted some time to think. I tend to do that a lot out here now. I guess you can call it my earth habit.

I never thought I'd say that.

I went to my usual spot, when I heard voices leaving the camp a little bit beside me. I walk over to see who it is, to find Bellamy, Murphy, Atom, and a few more of Bellamy's boys leaving camp with weapons. Oh that's right, Bellamy is leading a hunt today to get more food.

Curious, I walk over to the group. A hunting trip might be just what I need to clear my head; though I will say I've only ever seen one real animal in my whole life, and that was just yesterday. I don't think I want the next one I see to be one I kill. Maybe I'll just tag along for the walk, or maybe I'll be good at this whole hunting thing. Even more of a reason to go with them.

"Hey wait up!" I call out to them. Bellamy's head turns at the sound of my voice. His face becomes confused. Murphy also looks to me, a very pretentious look on his face. "What the hell are you doing? Go back to camp." Murphy demands egotistically.

Wow doesn't he just become more likable by the minute. "I'm good. I think I wanna go hunting instead." I say with a sarcastic smirk as a grab my knife from my shoe.

Murphy takes a step towards me "Listen you bi-"

He's interrupted by Bellamy's hands stopping him from coming at me. "Hold on Murphy." He demands.

"Don't you have a dead boy to help save?" Bellamy questions me.

I swallow and take in a small breath. It almost makes me feel bad about not being with Jasper, but he's in good hands. "They got it. I need a break. Just let me go with you." I plea. At least if I'm here Bellamy won't be able to do any plotting on this master plan to cut off contact with the Ark. I'm still not even sure why. I have done a little more thinking on it though. I realized that if he was given a gun, it was probably for a reason. I've been thinking that maybe someone gave it to him to threaten someone, maybe even shoot them. The theory is still a work in progress. In terms of Bellamy, I don't even know if I still think he's dangerous, even if he did shoot someone; whatever he did, I'm sure it was for his sister.

Bellamy looks at me with squinted eyes. Then he looks at Murphy, then to the knife in my hand, then back to my eyes.

"Okay Mountian girl, tell you what. If you can throw that knife at that tree and make it stick, you can come with us." He says with that same signature smirk on his face.

Oh. Well that's probably not gonna happen. I don't wanna argue with him though, so instead I put on a confident face and raise my eyebrows. I then take the knife, and draw my arm back in preparation to throw it.

Ok Aspen, it's just physics, you're good at physics. The bottom end of the knife outweighs the front end. The blade portion of the knife is about three inches, so it needs to make contact with the tree a 110 degree angle an order for the sharp end to stick. That means I need to release it at the same 110 degree angle with hopes that the unbalance force of the handle and the blade will drive the knife straight to the tree. I just have to make sure that my aim is good.

All that and all I need to do is aim the damn knife in the right direction.

With a pretty hard throw, I release the knife spinning through the air. To my surprise, the sharp end makes a clean stick and drives straight into the thick bark of the tree.

Holy shit that...worked. God, I love physics.

That was kind of sick. I feel like a total badass right now, but I need to keep my cool. I look to Bellamy and Murphy with a confident face; like I knew that was gonna happen.
