When we arrived back at the drop ship site, Clarke began to show me what she'd been working on with the map. Before she could show me, Wells Jaha, who I believe is a friend of Clarke, interrupted"We got problems. The communication system is dead. I went to the roof, a dozen panels are missing. Heat fried the wires."
Well that certainly is a problem.
It didn't seem like a big deal to Clarke. She almost seemed annoyed at Wells.
"Well, all that matters right now is getting to Mount Weather," she gestured to the map, "see look, Aspen you too." She drew a line across the map using pieces from the dropship to guide her.
"This is us." She pointed to what I assumed was Mount Weather on the map. "This is where we need to get to if we want to survive."
"Where'd you learn that from?" Wells asked. He looked very impressed.
I knew exactly where she learned that from.
The two stared at each other for a moment.
"Her father," I replied. I looked to Clarke with a sad smile. "He showed me too."
Wells looked confused. "Did you know him or somthing?" he asked.
"Or something," I pause, "long story," I brushed it off.
There was a short bit of silence between all of us, when Jasper walked up behind. "Ah cool a map! They got a bar in this town? I'll buy you two ladies a beer" He jokingly mentioned as he smiled at me and Clarke.
Wells pushed Jasper back "you mind?" he interjected.
Before I could say anything someone came over with a group of people. "Woah hey hey hands off of him he's with us."
Wells looked to the kid "Relax, we're just trying to figure out where we are."
Out of no where, guard boy, who I remembered Octavia had referred to as Bellamy, walked over with his sister. "We're on the ground, that not good enough for you?" he said to Wells.
A crowd had formed and surrounded us , all attention on the conflict at hand.
Wells started to walk towards Bellamy. "We need to find Mount weather," he told him. Clarke followed wells, and I followed her. "You heard my father's message that has to be our first priority," he asserted.
"Screw your father." That came from a agitated Octavia. Can't say I didn't agree with her on that one.
When no one said anything, she spoke up again. "What, you think your in charge here? You and your little princess." She said as she nudged over to Clarke.
I understand these kids being mad at Jaha, I am too. Wells may have been coming off a little bit aggressive but wasn't wrong. We did need to get to Mount weather.
Clarke finally spoke up. "Do you think we care who's in charge? We need to get to Mount Weather! Not because the Chancellor said so but because the longer we wait, the hungrier we'll get, and the harder this will be. How long do you think we'll last without those supplies? We're looking at a 20 mile trek, okay? So if we wanna get there before dark we need to leave. Now."
I could tell Clarke got her assertion from her father.
"I got a better Idea. You two go, find it for us. Let the privileged do the hard work for a change." That came from Bellamy.
There was a collection of yeses and yeahs around the group.
At that point, I'd had enough."Okay you guys I know we all have reasons to hate Wells' father, but they aren't wrong about this," I told them.
