A few months from now we'll be competing against students from other schools in a battle tournament.

I for one, am pumped beyond belief.

Most of my practice has been against people, namely Trigger and Soma. I've been told that I'm one of the highest scoring Trainees right now.

They really like my versatility, I personally think they like the attack names.

"You still thinking about that tourney?" Yang asked me, "You haven't touched your food." Oh, right, food.

"Jaune, Cardin Winchester has been picking in you since the first day of school."

Fighting an uphill battle over there. Jaune ain't the confrontational type. Doesn't really have the spine.

My opinion? Let him deal with it. Otherwise he'll never be able to get over it.

Least that's what i think. "That so mean, picking on that girl just for having those ears." "Huh?"

I looked at where Cardin was, I saw him pulling some girls ears. laughing just because she's a Faunus.

I stood up, "Req?" Trigger watched me walk over their table, "Chariot." The silver man came to my side.

He lunged at the burly bully, chains wrapped around his foil, stopping him in place.

Soma held Chariot back, "C'mon, Req. Let it go." Cardin chuckled, tightening his grip on her ears.

Soma heard my arms opening up, he sighed as he pulled back his sickles, "Just... Don't hurt him too bad."

I walked up to Cardin, he released her ears, "What? Can't tease a friend-?" I grabbed his shirt, lifted him up, and threw him through a window.

"Tch... Fu-" I remembered Ruby and Astra were watching, "Loser." I walked back to my seat, bumping into the girl I helped.

She thanked me, saying not many people like her being a Faunus, "No problem, anything ever happens with him, just come get me." She smiled, saying she'll do just that, "My name is Velvet."

"Y/N, Or Requiem." She giggled at the odd name, going off to her own team.

I forced my armor off, sitting back down with everyone, "That was unexpected." Huh? "Oh, well, I used to know a Faunus, so, it was just instinct to help."

This is the one class i don't have with most of my Team, just Astra, she's with me and Velvet.

I sat with her to make sure Cardin didn't try anything again, especially since we're talking Faunus genetics and history.

I'm sure she can handle herself, but I'll be damned if i make her even touch that thing.

After Jaune flubbed the answer horribly, Cardin was asked his thoughts, "Well, i know its a lot easier to train an animal than a soldier."

"Am i gonna have to come over there again?" I asked, making him quiet down, "It's night vision. Faunus have nearly perfect vision in even pitch black darkness."

Of which they were massively given an advantage when they were ambushed at night, "Maybe if you were smart as them, you'd be thought of as more than a meathead." Cardin stood up, being told to sit down.

After that class ended.

I took some copies of notes we had and gave them to Velvets team. We all left to go mess around since we weren't assigned anything, but I realised I left my bag.
