I know I saw her around here somewhere.

I saw this girl a few days ago by a huge tree in the woods by our house, really deeper.

I never saw a bigger-er one ever!

When i got close, a girl ran away from it, she had this tail like our kitty.

I'm sure I didn't just see it!

So I've been sneaking my dinner to this place ever since, trying to lure her back out.

I set the plate down by the tree, going to step back to my hiding spot, only to see the girl there.

She watched from cover, her hair covering most of her face, ragged and clumped all over, most of all those triangle bits at the top.

...

She really is a kitty!

Her eyes were blood red, gleaming in the slight light barely making it through the thick trees.

I took the plate, holding it down and out, "Pspspsps... C'mere, Kitty..." She slinked out on all fours, wearing a burlap sack.

She wearily meandered over to me, checking around her multiple times, hissing at me.

I set the plate down with her, making her look back and forth between me and the food.

She drooled at it, squatting down and tearing into it with her teeth alone, ripping it apart and eating every last piece.

"Do you like it?" I asked, making her snap out of her blissfully viscous dinner, she hissed at me.

I held my palm out at her, she slashed at it, cutting my hand with her sharp nails, I sucked on my teeth, enduring the cuts.

"Sorry if I'm scary, Kitty." I held out my other hand, the back facing her, leaving it out for her.

She looked around it, sniffing the air around it, rubbing her head on it, making her way into my hands grasp.

I gently pet her head, getting a slight pur before she snapped out of it again, hissing before running way into the trees.

"Bye, Kitty! I'll bring you more tomorrow!" I shouted at her, seeing her disappear.

I took the plate, walking back home.

---------------------------------------------------------

I placed my palm on the TV, watching my memories back on it, "...that was the first time we ever touched..." She cut my hand.

Scarred it, my first one was from her.

I feel it every time I think about it, the stinging burn of her dirty wild claws on my bare and soft young skin.

... "Y/N!" Jaune came into the turtle's room, having left before with everyone else to scope out the town.

I shut the thing off, standing up to hear him tell me the town was attacked, leaving most dead or injured.

We came out, the sky was clouded in grey with the smoke filling it, "Crazy Diamond!" The light blue an pink man came out.

Rushing into the town to find the injured with Harvest, "This way." Jaune led me to a Huntsman, I touched his arm.

He glowed, closing his eyes, "Is he..." Ruby started, looking his limp form, "Unconscious." I stood up, picking him up.

"Blood loss knocked him out, but he's alive." Ren checked his pulse, confirming that I'm right.

"Hold on..." I closed my eyes, getting the info from them, "...57 total citizens found..." I choked.

"...27 dead...30 injured..." I had Harvest take them to me as Crazy Diamond fixed the town.

---------------------------------------------------------

The last one engulfed in glowing gold, the little girl ran off to her dad, asking where her mom was.

Of the 27 dead, there was only one who had her...

I gritted my teeth, "They'll pay..." I made sure the few Huntsmen who survived the onslaught were in tip top shape, instructing them to guard this place.

Maybe it's just how I carried myself, or my look, my voice, my eyes, but they listened, not doubting me for a second and taking up posts around the town.

Whoever did this is long gone by now, but I know they're gonna get what they deserve, "Count on it."

---------------------------------------------------------

I set the plate down, "Come out, Kitty! It's your favorite!" I shouted irresponsibly into the woods.

The tree's rustled as she leapt down from one, back ached as she walked on her hands and legs over to me.

She took the fish from the plate, savoring its flavor as she tore it apart, eating it bones and all.

"Tasty?" She purred, sitting down at the trees base, hand planted in the ground between her legs.

I sat next to her, "Kitty," I looked around, taking my backpack out and grabbing the brush I took from mom out, "Hold still."

She protested, hissing and groaning, batting at me, her claws hidden away, "Just one minute." She grunted, barely understanding me.

After a while, I had gotten most knots out, bar the odd few, "There!" She shook her head, flinging loose hair all over.

The dark glistening locks littered the ground under us as she ran her hands through her hair.

I asked what she thought, only for her to run off into the woods, "Aw..." I set there dejected.

Hearing a noise coming my way, she dragged a broken mirror from a dresser the woods in her mouth.

I got up and dragged it with her, setting it against the tree, allowing her check it out.

Her eyes glistened as her sharp serrated teeth showed with her smile, she looked at me, making unintelligible noises at me.

---------------------------------------------------------

This was the first time I saw her smile... It's blinding glory is etched in my mind, scorching my memory with its incandescence.

That was just after my ninth birthday, I had the best party of my life that year, but even still, I wanted to see her.

Every single day of the week, every week of the month, every month of the year, every waking moment of my life.

I wanted to be with her, at that tree, the amber sunlight setting down on us with the sunset, doing absolutely anything at all.

My hand trailed down the TV in the dark room. Everyone else is fast asleep, "I miss you..." I murmured, clenching my fist to thr glass.

Unaware of the eyes watching me from her sleeping spot.
