The streets have become emptier and emptier with each passing day.

The city that usually has thousands of people out at all times is getting quieter and quieter. All because of a certain psycho killer they're scared of getting killed by.

I whistle happily while walking down the sidewalk. No fear rests in my stomach because I'm not a fucking pussy.

I smile while I walk. Whistling while my hands rest in the pockets of my black dress pants.

"A bouquet of white roses, please," I say as I enter the flower shop.

I don't ask for the price. I just take them and pay. You deserve anything in this world, Aurora. The price doesn't matter - there's nothing I wouldn't buy you.

"Thank you," I smile at the woman behind the counter.

But my eyes catch a sign posted on the wall behind her.

'Please call the number below if you have any information on the killer.'

My eyes slowly move back to the worker.

"Did you need anything else, Sir?" she asks me with a smile.

She's not scared. She doesn't even suspect that it's me. She has no idea that the man in front of her could take her life in a single second, without leaving any evidence.

I could strangle her.

I could stab her.

I could show her what the word evil looks like in human form.

But I just smile back and tip a $50 bill.

Walking down the sidewalk with a bouquet of flowers in my hand makes me feel happier than it should.

I'm a cruel and evil man, Aurora. Perhaps I'm even unredeemable.

But you have the heart of a psychotic killer bringing you flowers.

Maybe my heart isn't black after all. Maybe, below the surface of my cruel ways, there's a part of me that's good.

And you bring it out, Aurora.

Only you.

When I open the café door and see her face, I feel at home. She smiles immediately. The golden hoops she wears sparkle from the sun that shines through the windows.

"Hey," her sweet voice greets me. "What are those?"

"These," I hold the flowers up higher. "Are for the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."

She bites her bottom lip while she smiles. It's something that I've always loved that she does.

I hand them out for her to take, and as she takes them I say, "So, could you give them to your coworker, please?"

"Fuck you!" she laughs. I smile at the sound that I love so much.

Please do.

She sets the bouquet down, but I remain at the counter since there aren't any customers inside. She sighs and looks around, "Seems like a ghost town, huh?"

"Yea. The killer's got everybody scared," I reply.

What pussies. I'm not going to kill you at the grocery store in front of an entire crowd.

"Yep," she agrees. "Hopefully they'll catch them soon. Before you become their next victim."

She speaks teasingly, pointing her finger at me.
