Y/n made a beeline to her car, not bothering to talk to or even look at anyone. The windows shook as she slammed the door shut and kickstarted the engine. She drove away faster than she came in. The night was seeping in, so the roads were emptier. When she stopped at a red light, her fingers tapped the steering wheel while she stared distantly. To take her mind off of this meeting, she began to think about what she'd said to Arata last night when she was... high. What was this load that he mentioned?

She sighed, her eyes moved to the window and landed on the shiny crescent moon. That's when it hit her like a truck. It couldn't have been that night. She swore not to talk about it ever again... And the alcohol never loosened her tongue but smoking was new. That night. The night where the crescent moon glistened above her while she wailed.

"Oh I fucked up..."

THE NIGHT BEFORE

"Inhale and exhale gently." He chuckled, and she sent him half a glare before inhaling again. She didn't cough this time, letting a small cloud of smoke escape her lips instead. Arata smiled widely. "Good, right?" He asked, she laughed lightly. "You're the worst influence ever." She shook her head, making his smile widen.

"Mmm, I know... Now tell me about that story of yours." Arata hummed. Y/n tilted her head back and let out another puff of smoke. She did so a couple of times before passing the tiny stick over to her companion. "It's a long one. Y'sure you want to hear?" She sipped on her drink. Y/n could see his smug smirk as the smoke he exhaled cleared up. "Of course I do. We've known each other for 4 years and it's still a mystery to me why you chose to kill off spies in your spare time. You're endangering your hero career and it's very intriguing to me, I want to know what's the sob story that makes the risk worth it..."

"You're so nosey..." She slurred with a smile. "Only when I'm talking to someone as interesting as you are..." He breathed, pressing a kiss to her knuckles before handing her the roll. "Mmm, you smug shit. I'm not swayed by your gentleman's words that easily anymore." Y/n scoffed. "You were that night when we-" "I did that because I wanted to, get over yourself."

Y/n took a long hit before she began to speak.

"I was a very reckless hero-student." She laughed to herself. "The methods I used at that time were much more controversial than the ones I use right now, so you could only imagine the lengths I went to at that age since the ones I use at the moment are oh-so heavily criticised..." Arata nodded slowly. "They were careless and violent. Never enough to kill, but almost always enough to leave life-long complications." Y/n clarified and handed the blunt to him.

"I would saunter into many dangerous situations without givin' a shit; walking into a building where an ongoing armed robbery was taking place to take down the criminals and placing the hostages in danger in the process. But in the end, I won, so it didn't matter did it?" His green hair fell onto his face as he laughed, making her smile. "Yeah, well that's what I believed back then anyway." She emptied the glass and exhaled through her nose.

"That's until my beliefs got my brother shot and killed."

"Y/n you have to get a hold of yourself." Katsuo huffed with a smile. "Oh c'mooooon. I know you love the trouble I cause, I'm the reason you can show off your arguing skills in court! See, you're smiling! You love me!" Y/n beamed, leaning her head onto his shoulder as they walked out of the courthouse. "You should start paying me, just because I'm your overly kind and generous older brother doesn't mean you get to leach off my skills in the court whenever a criminal's family tries to sue you for going too far." He gave her a pointed look and she rolled her eyes.

"I'm bringing you well-paying customers, aren't I? Besides, I'm graduating in a month or two so I'll spoil you rotten once I'm a hero." Y/n batted her eyelashes teasingly, making him shove her off of his shoulder and smile lightly. "You've given me more cases to work on in a month than our older sister has during her entire career as a hero. You won't last after debut if you stay so aggressive n/n. I know they deserve it but be more careful." He opened the car door for her and let her step inside, but stopped the door before she could shut it. "I'm really serious Y/n. You might mess up once and the people that you harm for justice won't take you to court and elect to kill you instead."
