"Fuck's sake, I haven't had a moment's rest since the damn festival was announced. Hero work too. The league is making everyone panic." Y/n grumbled, chucking her jacket onto Arata's couch and slumping down next to it. "Ah. Have the substitutes I've given you been working?" He leaned on the bar counter with his head in his palm and a foxy smile on his face. She rolled her eyes, but the corners of her mouth turned upwards. After their last session together, Y/n asked Arata how she should cope with stress now that she works as a teacher.
Drinking in school was risky, riskier than drinking on the job as a hero. And she needed a clear mind to deal with the kids. Smoking weed was a dangerous thing to do on a daily basis, it helps with the anxiety temporarily but leaves her incapacitated and worsens her stress while sober. So Arata came up with a creative solution. "The cigarettes? They're fine. But I still feel the need for a drink when I get home." She sighed, sinking deeper into the couch. "Well that's good, they're meant to satisfy your addiction during school hours." "I'm not addicted." Y/n gave him a harsh look, which he shrugged off.
"Whatever you say. So the league, I know you denied the job that the commission gave you as a spy but..." He trailed on, making Y/n frown. "I'm not taking a job as an angel, not even for you." She said sternly, but he held up his hands and shook his head. "No no, I'm not asking you to work as a dirty spy for them. But I know you... and I think that you're interested in them still... So do you want me to hook you up so you can get in?" Arata beamed innocently, she scoffed in response.
"I think you want that more than I do. But I'll handle them later. You said you had a job for me, was this it or is there something else? I don't want to waste time here, I'm helping Midnight with planning some extra activities for event breaks." He shook his head defeatedly. "Nah. We got a new stock of weapons this morning. I have a meeting with a potential client now, so take whatever you need and let me know if you change your mind about the league." Y/n nodded and watched as he trailed out of the private room and into the main bar.
As soon as the door was shut, Y/n lifted herself off the couch with great effort and wandered towards the black duffel bags holding mounds upon mounds of unlicensed, black-market weaponry. She leaned on the bar with a light groan after she'd examined all the weapons only to find nothing that suits her expensive taste. Her fingers snaked towards the pack of cigarettes that Arata had left on the green marble, sliding one out and wrapping her lips around it.
"Now where does he keep his lighters..." She mumbled to herself, her words muffled by the cigarette in her mouth. She sat on the bar and swung her feet. Y/n landed behind the bar and started to mindlessly open cupboards and drawers in search of a lighter. But a lighter wasn't her only find. "Hm... What's this...?" She bent down and held the now-lit cigarette between her two fingers. Her gaze was fastened on a red velvet box sitting on a shelf right under the bar. Without any hesitation, she grabbed it and gently set it on the marble. Her (colour) eyes lit up with an aura of enticement when she laid eyes on the gorgeous colt-model pocket revolver.
It had a shining gold inlay that was full of intricate carving. The mahogany wood grip had a carving of a scythe, much like the one that the Grimm Reaper bears. With the contrast of gold and wood, it was a beautiful piece of weaponry. "What is a pretty little million-dollar gun like you doing tucked away like this? You deserve to be put to good use..." She ran her fingers across the golden barrel with a smile before picking the gun up and closing the box. It was time to leave, so she grabbed her jacket and bag and slipped out of the room.
The bar was empty, it was still early in the day so it wasn't open to the public yet. Y/n was about to leave when she heard a vaguely familiar voice coming from one of the VIP rooms of the bar. Intrigued, she walked in its direction. Leaning behind the curtains, she poked her head into the room where she spotted Arata chatting joyfully with a blue-haired man. Her eyes slowly widened at the creeping realisation that her Ex-classmate was sitting right in ahead. "I'm really looking forward to working with you and the Angel Reaper. I have heard formidable and impressive things about her." He chuckled, and Arata grinned.
