"My my Bakugou... Well, this training session has revealed to me what I need to start working on!" Y/n huffed with a large smile. Her palms rested on her hips while she beamed down at the four boys lying in a pile on the gym floor. "Why'd we have to get involved man..." Hummed Keizo, snatching his mask down to breathe. "You still got a lot to learn. Don't get lazy just 'cause you're not a student anymore." She tutted, shaking her head.
"Anyway, Bakugou, a blind and deaf man could've observed this information. You are by far the most impatient person that I've ever met, besides myself. And- Oh hey Mai." The tall woman hurried into the gym with her clipboard clutched in her hands, making Y/n pause midsentence at the sight of her panicked eyes. "What's going on?" Pressed Y/n, moving towards Mai with her eyebrows knotted. "Here, there's a huge breakthrough in your Platinum case." "The Platinum case? You're sure? Who-" Mai shoved one of Y/n's work phones into her hand, there was an ongoing call.
When she got a good look at the caller ID she gave Mai a wide-eyed glare. "Don't do this to me Mai I can't talk to him." She whispered aggressively, but Mai shook her head. Y/n exhaled through her nostrils and quickly left the room with the phone, abandoning the boys who were still lying on the ground tired and confused. 'Of all the heroes... Fuck I can't do this shit... Not after the last time we worked together...' She absentmindedly gnawed on her lip while she ran off to a secluded room– not that it did her any physical damage.
Y/n took a deep breath to summon some courage before answering the phone. "Hey, Keigo..." "Y/n! How's it going? I thought I was gonna be on hold forever. Sorry to disturb you, you were working with your kid right?" He rambled on. She pursed her lips tightly and hummed. "Yup. How's Fumikage?" She responded, he grinned widely on the other side of the phone. "Oh, he's great! You're doing a really good job at that school, he's very good at combat. I might've doubted your decision, but I never doubted your teaching."
She smiled proudly. "Yeah, he's one of my best at sparring. Anyway, uhm, the Platinum case...? Mai said you had something?" Y/n cleared her throat. "Right! Sorry, got sidetracked. We haven't talked in some time. So while on patrol with Fumikage we overheard some information about a drop at the Casino tomorrow night." Y/n was silent for a while. This was quite a shock, she's been chasing this thief for months; both as a hero and with Arata. Around four months ago this thief, or thieves– she didn't know that much about the case– had stolen millions worth of solid platinum, and then disappeared without a trace.
"The Platinum theft? You're one hundred percent sure?" She asked. "Cross my heart and pull my feathers. I'm telling you N/n, this is legit." He responded, instantly assuring Y/n. He never lies when he says that. "Alright. I trust you. Send over the information and my team and I will start working immediately. Thank you, a lot. I've been at this for months, I really appreciate the help." Y/n sighed, moving to end the call. But his voice suddenly stopped her.
"Wait. Can I... can we join your mission?" He asked, making her freeze up. "Uhm... I don't know..." She muttered. Y/n was hesitant about working with him again, especially after the last time. She just couldn't control herself and keep a distance like she wants to whenever she has to work with him. It's like her old self just jumps back and takes control and acts as if nothing happened between the two like she didn't distance herself for years after her brother's funeral in fear of sabotaging her friends as she did herself.
