Chapter 31
"Finally you are out of the room." Ms. Halsen squeals.
I smile at her. "You just had your breakfast?" I ask, pulling the chair in front of her.
"Yeah," she munches. "Just like you I had to take a bath first. My head was killing me. It was a good thing that Ms. Rosé gave me medicine. And look she also let me borrow her clothes" She continues as she points to the clothes she's wearing. She is wearing a faded blue, smooth cotton tiered mini dress.
"It fits on you perfectly." I comment.
"I was surprised too. I didn't know we have the same built."
I smile as I place my food on my plate.
On the table, there is bacon, ham and then sunny side up egg. Two kinds of artisan bread are also served, flat loaves and baguettes. Bambam also made marinated salad. And based on what I am seeing from Ms. Halsen, it seems delicious. Because she is getting another scope on her plate. I wonder where he got his recipe. The last time we checked the fridge, it was empty. That's why we ate outside and had takeouts.
"She's the one who took care of you last night." I informed her.
"Really?" Ms. Halsen snaps, looking flabbergasted. "I thought you were the one who took care of me." She says, giving me a shy gaze.
I smile at her and put a spoonful salad in my mouth.
"I was so drunk last night. I can't even remember how I got her. When I woke up earlier, I was so shocked to see an unfamiliar room that I shouted my lungs out."
A soft and low chuckle escapes my lips.
"They all ran to me and asked me what was wrong." She continues.
"Well, based on your state last night, I was pretty certain that you would not remember anything." I laugh. "It was a good thing that we have a strong man who carried you all the way here."
Her face turns crimson. "Strong man? You mean Bambam."
I nod and giggle at her reaction.
"Omg! I am not touching alcohol again."
Clicking my tongue, I say. "I'm sure you won't."
She grabs the napkin on her lap and throw it to me.
I catch it and throw it back to her.
Her nose crinkles. "Btw, why did we end up here? I mean, I am thankful we are here. But why not in our hotel?"
"Ms. Maboban insisted that we spent the night here."
"Oh, okay." She drinks her juice and wipe her mouth. Then she looks at me, She opens her mouth as if she's going to tell me something, but she decides not to.
"What is it?" I ask.
She bites her lip, hesitating to say it.
"What is it, Ms. Halsen?"
"Earlier," she pauses, "I am not sure if I was just imagining it but Ms. Manoban was giving me a weird look."
"A weird look?" I questioned.
"Yeah, like she was examining me."
I frown. Then I remember what Ms. Halsen said to Lisa. "Oh, it's probably because you told her that you like me."
She gasps, "I did what?"
My smile turns into laughter. "She's not a fan of teacher/students relationship"
