I finish getting ready, my hair slightly curled, a black bow holding up half my hair and two strands loose at the front of my face.

I am wearing black tight-fitted jeans, a beige, wool, baggy sweater and black heels. If father expected me to dress fancy, it is not happening. He does not deserve my respect for what he is putting me through.

I am carrying a black bag, filled with tissues. I may need a cry during our meal, I know how emotional I can become.

I look myself in the mirror, hoping that some part of me is excited for this. That a part of me hopes he isn't at all the bad person he comes out to be. If I just hope... I open my bag, grabbing a tissue and wiping at my eyes.

I never knew mother, but from what Aubrey says. Mother would never approve of this. I allowed her to get ready, she did not want to leave my side, nor did Mrs Ophelia, but we had to get ready for this.

I throw the tissue in the bin, leaving my room and walking down the hall. I notice Aubrey in our art museum, my favourite place in the palace, apart from the library. I walk inside, Aubreys attention going to me.

She is wearing a black dress, black heels and an oversized white shirt she wears around her for warmth, along with a black channel bag.

She is sat on one of the benches, staring up at me. Watching as I look as many of the arts. I stop in my tracks, looking at a painting of our ancestors, not for any reason.

With my back to her, I gently speak, "Are you going to the club after dinner?" I ask, knowing the answer. She goes every night.

"Only if you are ok. I could not imagine how hard this is for you" A tear rolls down my cheek. I turn slowly around, looking at her. She is so beautiful.

I have seen picture of our mother and she surely does look like her, I get her personality apparently. He dark brown, wavy hair falls in front of her face, she moves it away with her hand.

"I know you don't want to hear this, Mer. But Elias might just be like father in a way. He might be hiding his heart due to his reputation and keeping it intact." She stands up, walking toward me and holding my hand tightly.

"Find his heart, Mer. Find it and help him find yours." I wipe away a tear forming, with my hand. I nod my head, hugging her tightly.

We stand like this for a moment in silence, then suddenly feel Mrs Ophelia wrap her arms around the both of us. We love her with our whole heart. She is a lot older than father, but her heart is kinder.

We all pull away and I look down at her, a smile and tears on her face.

"Look at you both. So grown up" She says gently. I laugh at her comment, so does Aubrey.

"Maybe Elias has a brother for Aubrey" I laugh at her words.

"Ooh, is Aubrey going to fall in love" I laugh teasing her. She pushes me away with one hand, so I copy after her.

We both laugh, smiling widely when sudden fear seals through me once again.

"Girls!" My father yells from the main door to the art museum.

We both hurriedly stop, looking straight at him. "They're here" He says loudly, walking away.

I look at both Aubrey and Mrs Ophelia. Both smiling at me, telling me everything will be ok. And it might... I just have to make it ok.
