Chapter Nine

Karan and I are in the nurse's office with our friend whose apparently a patient.

Nurse Madeline is rubbing and examining Luwi's tummy as she lays on the sick bed.

"She'll be just fine. It's just a stomach ache probably caused by something she ate. Something she doesn't really consume which caused her a stomach ache," the nurse says.

"What will you give her to stop the pain?" Karan asks concerned.

"I will give her some antacids to neutralize the stomach acidity and relieve the upset stomach pain," she says and takes out some medicine for Luwi who is still laying on the bed.

"This is an alternative free-formulate containing magnesium salt to help her out. She'll experience some side effects such as diarrhoea. But she'll be just fine," Miss Madeline tells us and Karan and I nod in approval.

Luwi manages to sit up straight and gets the medicine from the nurse. She looks at the medicine unsure if she should take it.

"Diarrhoea? For how long? I can't be shitting my whole life." Luwi says and we all laugh at her comment.

"Don't you worry, Luwi. You'll be fine," The nurse replies with a chuckle.

Luwi then partakes of the medicine.

"I'll be right back," the nurse says leaving Karan and I with our friend. I take a sit beside Luwi and I put my arm around her.

"You'll be fine. You'll be okay," I say to her and she smiles.

"Yeah,thanks. I think what caused my ache is the mints that I ate this morning when coming to school," Luwi says.

"The mints I texted you to bring for me?" I ask.

"Yeah. I'm sorry. I'll get you some burgers after school to make it up for eating the mints," she tells me and I chuckle.

"No, it's okay," I tell her and she lightly smiles at me.

I'm still waiting with Karan for Luwi to feel better. She's fast asleep now and I suppose we'll miss the second class period but who cares? I'm with my friends and I'm looking out for one of them.

Karan is reading through a health magazine as he waits beside Luwi's sick bed closely accompanying his best friend.

Suddenly,Miss Madeline walks into her office with a light smile on her face.

"Miss Duncan? Someone is out in the hallway to see you," she says and I look at Karan who Is already looking at me.

"Whose out to see me?" I ask the nurse as I look back at her in pure confusion.

"He said it's a surprise but I'll say it anyway. It's Cameron Winston," she says and Karan amusingly cusses out.

"Holy shit! Go out there," he tells me and I hesitantly get up from my chair to walk out and meet the popular guy.

"Okay,thank you," I appreciate the nurse and walk out of the office. I leave the nurse inside with my friends and I close the door on my way out.

As I walk myself in the hallway, I see Cameron sitting on the floor leaning against the wall with a basketball in his hands. He has his eyes closed.
