Chapter Thirty-FourSilently sitting in my seat,I watch as Mrs Charlotte cut the call she just had with my mother.
I have my arms crossed with my head in the clouds as I think about how fucked up it was to actually come to this school.
Our schools guardian counsellor Mr Blair is in the principals office along with my best History teacher and human being in the world,Mr Gregory. They are both silently sitting waiting for the principal to say something.
"Okay, your mom is on her way,Miss Duncan. She's disappointed as well and so am I," Mrs Charlotte says to me and I scoff.
"I swear that I did not say whatever was said in that clip. Believe me, Mrs Charlotte," I reply with a husky tone of voice due to the much crying I was from doing immediately I got here.
"Miss Duncan,it's pretty clear that you aren't listening to whatever it is I am trying to say to you, right now. You have violated the school rules and that means suspension for you. Even worse,I might expell you," Mrs Charlotte tells me.
I look over at Mr Gregory who looks saddened for me and I can feel it in my bones that he believes every word I've said since the moment I walked into the office.
I look back at the principal.
"I said,I didn't do it. I can prove it to you that it's not my doing. I will prove it to you that I have been framed by Jelena Richards, the girl that harrasses me and beat me up last time. She is responsible for this," I point the truth out and Mr Gregory backs me up.
"I believe she should dig deeper and find out the truth about these allegations that are being pointed at her. She needs to make sure her instincts are right. If Jelena truly framed her."
I hurriedly nod in approval.
"I also believe she should investigate even though it looks like she might be the one saying all that disgrace in a heartbeat," Mr Blair says and the Principal sighs.
"Miss Duncan, despite the video making it clear that you are the one cussing things out,I will give you a one week suspension as you gather some information that will clear your name," she says and I nod approving.
But a one week suspension? Ma'am, we're approaching prom then graduation a month from now. I've got to prepare for everything so what do you mean one week?
