light and warmth
The war was raging, and the God of Thunder struck down enemy after enemy. Thor found the relish of battle exhilarating – but as he caught himself enjoying it, he viewed his allies, no older than children, fighting alongside him. They were children, fighting a war that could only lead to ruin. He had to be focused, and protect those children.
He'd kept close to his brother, they had fought back to back at the start, but the numerous explosions and avoided curses had separated them to the extend where Thor could only watch his little brother fight at the bottom of the stairs.
From the corner of his eye, he'd watched Loki battle with both dagger and magic – green flash after green flash, enemy after enemy. However, just as Thor caught wind of Urikson near him, a shout resounded through his ears. He whirled around, just to catch Loki's green eyes for the last time, as his brother fell to the ground. And remained frozen. Forever.
"Loki!" A scream passed his lips and he turned his back to Urikson, lightning paving the way for him, toward his brother's body. Toward his brother's killer.
Anthonin Dolochov wore a sickening smirk as he approached his last kill, a God. The same smirk played at his lips when he saw Thor descend the stairs, Urikson at his heels.
Thor knew no magic, wielded no weapon but his lightning... but his rage pushed him forward. Death Eaters swarmed the corridor, breaking through the defences one by one, but he did not see them. He could only see his brother and the killer looming over him.
He drew back his fist, filled with electricity, ready to point it at the monster that had taken from him – when a sickening giggle came from behind him.
Bellatrix Lestrange stood next to Urikson as she cast her Killing Curse, ending the life of a second God that night. Satisfied and euphoric, Urikson took his dagger, twin to the one that had ended the great Skyler of Asgard, and stabbed it on the exact same place in Thor's chest as he had done with his daughter.
"May any Asgardians want to rebel, they shall be reminded that hope is only disappointment against me," he stated with a wicked grin and soulless eyes.
And so, in the middle of the great stairway up to the Ravenclaw Tower, lay the slain bodies of two Gods, overpowered by the simple magic of Midgard.
~ RAYMOND ~
Skyler had run from the Great Hall, thunder and storm following in her wake. Raymond shared a worried look with Nathan and Olivia. They had to protect the mortals.
"Get everyone inside and make sure to cast as many shielding spells as you can manage to hold," Raymond said as he hurried after his Queen. On his way to her, a deafening explosion was heard from the outside. The lightning of the storm had struck something in the middle of the courtyard. Students and allies ran to the doors, out of shock and curiosity.
"Who is that?" "What are they doing?"
It dawned on him then... Lightning had not simply struck – it had found. In her first life, his Queen had wielded the skies masterfully. It appeared she was able to do it still.
Another explosion. Another thundering strike of lightning.
"Everyone get back inside!" Raymond yelled, pushing the mortals away from the threshold, behind the borders of Olivia's shield. "Go! Get back inside right now!"
Some ran, others reluctantly paced. And of course, a few supposed friends stayed. Raymond caught himself rolling his eyes when he faced Draco Malfoy and his merry band of friends. As both opened their mouths to speak, Skyler was strengthened by yet another power surfacing. Fire surrounded her, and exploded around her.
