Einar Urikson had always been the most handsome young man in town. Being from the richer class, he could afford the clothes and accessory that made him stand out from the crowd.

His father, Urik Rickerson, was a respected general. He had fought wars and won most of them, all in the name of Vanaheim. Einar, on the other hand, was more of a traveller; seeing the most wonderful things on his journeys gave him the happiness he desired.

Instead of becoming a soldier with power, like his father, the young lord wanted to become a tradesman. He wanted to see the Realms and discover all their hidden treasures, as he always nicely put it. But most of all, the handsome young man wanted a woman to share his adventures with. A wife who would understand his urge to constantly travel and never look further than tomorrow.

All of the women in the little town where he lived, Mosfell, only cared for his face, his name and the fact that their status would be secured. Einar was horrified by the idea of marrying one of those simple and shallow women.

When it came to his eight hundredth birthday – the day he reached maturity – Einar's father announced that it was time for him to give up on fantasies, and to start living in the world that was around him. Stubborn and angered, Einar told his father that his dreams were no fantasies. His father could not tell him what or whom he wanted to become.

"Father, I do not care for war and titles. You and Mother always told me to find answers if I were to be looking for them. My answers are out there, across all the Realms. There is more to life than the battlefield and a quiet town like Mosfell!" He didn't care that people might hear him, or that people might've been shocked by his attitude. His father had to realise it; he didn't want to live the same life.
