the red hair was a dead giveaway

New York was worse than he expected at first. The crowd paid no attention to its surroundings; the traffic would be impossible to manoeuvre through, even for the Knight Bus; and last, but not least, it was impossible to find someone here if one did not know their location.
Yes, Draco Malfoy regretted his decision to visit the Big Apple, and warn Skyler for the horrors that were trying to chase her right into Urikson's arms. He had seen the Frost Giants and the Dark Elves... but also something even darker, something that obeyed Urikson. Whatever it was, Draco did not trust it.
They didn't suspect him to be the mole. Heavens, no. Draco was playing his spying role greatly, as Sirius had told him. He had given irrelevant information to the Dark Lord and some of it were lies, others weren't. He knew precisely how to manipulate everyone, even his mother, into thinking he was Lord Voldemort's noble servant.
But fuck that. He had wanted to work against him ever since he had gotten the task of killing Dumbledore. Wanting to kill him, came later. After he had seen all the scars on the body of the girl he loved. And there were too many of them from that one night on the graveyard, when Voldemort, even his own father, watched a fourteen-year-old girl being almost tortured to dead. It was Harry Potter's destiny to kill Lord Voldemort, but Draco was more than eager to help him achieve that with everything he could do. For once, he would be able to set his hate for Potter aside and do the right thing for the world.
Because of his amazing acting skills, Draco had gotten the Dark Lord's permission to visit places around the world, possibly gain information from huge organisations such as MACUSA. Only, he wouldn't do that. No, Draco was here to look for Skyler, and see if she... well, was busy or bored.
With the streets getting darker, and Draco not finding as much as a trace from the princess, he just began to wander around the City That Never Sleeps. With curious eyes, he visited the Statue of Liberty and Avengers Tower.
Draco stopped moving when he saw something that shocked him. The 'LANE OF HURRICANE' was one of the streets that had been destroyed after the attack of New York back in his third year. A statue of Skyler herself stood at the beginning, her sword in one hand as a flame was visible in another. He sighed wistfully... Merlin, he missed her.
"Ah," a soft voice spoke up. "You must be another fan." Draco turned around to see a small, chubby brunette standing behind him, multiple books in her arms and two bright pick wires in her ears... it looked odd.
"Not exactly a fan... more of an acquaintance." The words surprised the girl, whose brown eyes grew big with excitement.
"Are you saying that you actually know Hurricane? B-But no one ever sees her outside her job... people don't even know where she lives," she stammered. Draco shrugged and glanced back at the statue. He saw Skyler's icy, brave glare and slightly cowered underneath it. Even carved in stone, she did not look kind in battle. And she shouldn't, he thought to himself.
