horrible visions and bad luck
~
Two groups stood against each other. One of darkness, one of light. Meanwhile, she stood in between. Both her swords raised. One glowed blue and the other red. It felt weird to stand there. What was she doing there?
"You can't protect them all," spoke a handsome man. She could see he was somewhere shocked to see her.
Without permission, her head shortly turned to look at the people behind her. So many faces that held grief and pain. Her eyes focussed on a silver-blond man, as their eyes met, a blazing fury took over her calm.
The sword that shone blue created ice, a wall of sharp spikes made of the darkest ice. Her other sword, the one that shone red, created a wall of white-hot flames made of the brightest fire. It would kill anyone to run through both, except for her. Nothing burned her. Not the cold of the ice, not the heath of the fire. It seemed to be her rightful place.
"I can try," she growled. A voice that was much different than hers. Authority and bravery resounded in every nerve of her being whilst she spoke.
The handsome man smirked. "And so, you will fail. Again." His own sword seemed to unite all darkness, as he aimed it toward the skies. A streak of black shot out to it and a portal was created.
The vile creatures that descended from the skies made her heart beat hundred times harder. "Everyone, inside! Put up as many protections as possible! Use transfiguration!" When she looked back, she saw that nobody moved. "For the Norns' sake, go!"
All the younger ones ran inside, whilst a few knights and warrior-types stayed behind. "We beat them before," said a man dressed in blue, red and white. "Now, we'll do it again."
"Anyone got a nuke to send into that thing?" a man made of iron seemed to joke.
To her own surprise, a snort escaped her. But the joke was short-lived, as the handsome man stopped to open the portal. Armies of the creatures gathered, and eight eel-like worms took the lead. There was no way they would make it out alive.
