I took Justin's hand and was about to walk out when I heard my mom's voice flutter into the living room.

"Not so fast, young lady." She scolded me.
"What did I do?"
She put her hands on her hips portraying a teenager. "I've spent 6 hours cooking dinner for you 4. I at least deserve to see it eaten."
I laughed and strode over to hug her. "Thank you mom."
"Don't mention it. I want my little girl to have the best night of her life."
"Mmm... smells good Mrs. Martin." Logan complimented and made his way towards the smell of the food.

Mary Anne huffed and followed after her boyfriend.

"Justin, dear." My mother said, pulling away from my embrace and striding over to take him in her arms.
I watched as she held him tightly, comforting him in the same way, she would do to me.

"Mrs. Martin. I've-"
"Sandra." She reminded him.
He laughed gently. "Sandra then. I've missed you. Well, maybe it's just your cooking." He joked.

She shook her head laughing and walked back into the kitchen, leaving him and me standing there alone.

The tension in the room was unbearable. I was willing him to say something, anything, just to fill the emptiness floating in the air.

I could hear everything. The noise of the clock as time passed. The sound of his breathing, the sound of the muffled voices coming from the other room.

I wanted him to kiss me. I wanted him to remind me that this was real, that everything we'd been through wasn't just a dream. I wanted him to remind me of the fact that I loved him; and that no matter what I always would.

"Say something." I whispered, breaking away from my thoughts.
"Let's eat." He said, grabbing my elbow and leading me into the kitchen.

Well that's not what I expected. I wanted him to kiss me! Why couldn't he just see that?

He led me to the table and took a seat by Logan, pulling out a chair, indicating that I sit by him. I sat by him and focused my attention on the food in front of me.

My mom had managed to cook lasagne, mashed potatoes and all sorts of different dishes. She'd never really been able to cook, but when it comes to special occasions like these, she would do her best, normally it would come out tasting perfectly fine.

"Lil?" Justin's voice rang in my ears.
"Huh?" I asked, confused.

He laughed lightly and shook his head, turning his attention back on Logan.

10 minutes later after being forced to take pictures, we were walking outside on our way to the prom. I stopped outside Mary Anne's car, waiting for her to unlock the doors.

"I don't think so." Justin said, pulling me by the arm and towing me over to his Mercedes.
"What are you doing?"
"You're my date. You're riding with me."

His date. I felt the warmth spreading throughout my body. It started from my stomach and shot all the way down to my toes. The feeling goes stronger. I love him.

I sighed and got into his car. He got in and drove off heading down to the place where the prom was.

I didn't know where it was located because I didn't look into it. I didn't think I would be sitting here in a beautiful dress with the most gorgeous guy, on my way to the prom. I was still overcome with the shock of it all. The image still shooting through my head, of him getting down on one knee and asking me to be his date for the prom.
He pulled into the parking lot and shut off the ignition.

I glanced around at a tall building with brick walls covering every inch of it. The lights around the building were gleaming, making the whole building sparkle. The chorus of people's voices, filled with excitement and nervousness. The moon shining down on the place, lighting up the whole sky.

"It's so beautiful." I murmured, mostly to myself.
"I know. It's supposed to be." Justin said getting out of the car.

I followed in pursuit, and slipped my arm around his. This felt right. I could feel the heat emaciating off of his body, seeping through his body inch of my skin. The urge to kiss him only growing stronger within seconds.

He smiled down at me and led me through the throng of people into the building.

The disco ball hung in the middle of the room, the walls radiating with light. The music was playing softly in the background, barely being heard over the voices of other people. The walls were covered in brown paint and the floors covered in peach colour.

"Dance with me." Justin said and pulled me into his arms and onto the dance floor.

Hours later, after dancing with Justin 5 times, dancing with Logan twice and even dancing with Mary Anne several times, my feet were killing me and I was feeling tired.

Justin emerged from the throng of people and picked me up off the ground.

"Justin-"
"Hush." He murmured.

He led me outside and into a garden at the back of the building.

I was astonished; the garden was coloured in lillies, roses, tulips, and several other different kinds of flowers. The never ending lights lit up the path to the garden, making it even more beautiful.

"What are we doing out here?"
"I needed to get away from the prom for a while, so I figured I'd take you with me."
"Justin. You can't-"

But before I had a chance to reply, his mouth descended on mine. I was frozen in shock. His mouth was fast and urgent against mine, pleading with me to respond to his touch.

My body reacted instantly, I intwined my fingers through his hair and pressed myself more firmly against him, wanting to stay in this position forever. Never wanting to leave his arms. I felt like I'd dreamt of this forever, but never actually realising how much I wanted it until now. I never realised how much I needed him until this moment.

He pulled away and looked at me.

"What was... Why..." I tried to form a coherent sentence but failed miserably.
"I love you." He whispered, kissing my neck.
"Justin, are you drunk?"
"No. I'm not. I'm perfectly fine, actually."
"Then why did you kiss me?"
"Because I love you."
"Yeah, as a friend."
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to keep his temper under control. "No. I love you more than just a friend."

I stared at him. Was this some kind of a joke? Or was this really happening?

The three words I've always longed to hear come out of his mouth, finally ringing in my ears.

Justin loved me!
