"Come on!" Mary Anne squealed.
I sighed and crossed my arms. "Didn't I tell you that I wasn't going to the prom?"

Mary Anne rolled her eyes and continued looking through the racks of dresses.

After yesterday's event, Justin had taken us back to the hospital so that I could get my car, then I had driven myself home. I woke up on Saturday planning to just stay home for the weekend, but Mary Anne insisted I go shopping with her at the mall for the prom, even though I reminded dozens of times that I wasn't going.

"If Justin goes, will you?" She prodded, still attempting to get me to go.
"Well yeah, but-"
"No buts. If Justin goes, you have to go, deal?" She asked, holding out her hand for me to shake.
"Mary Anne-"
"Lilly." She scolded. "This is not negotiable."
"Fine. Deal." I said and reached out my hand to shake hers.

I wasn't going to argue with her, not only was it hopeless but Mary Anne wouldn't stop until I went. She'd do anything and everything to get me to go.

Prom was the least of my worries. Chances are, Justin wouldn't even go, so therefore saved me from having to go.

"I don't see what your deal with prom is anyway." She said, sighing.
"I'm just not all obsessed with it like half the girls in our class."
"We're not obsessed." She defended.
"Maybe not. But I don't just jump at the chance to go."

She mumbled something under her breath and continued looking at the rack of clothes. She picked up a satin blue dress and eyed it carefully.

"This would look gorgeous on you!" She yelled, happily.
"Uh-"
"Try it on!" She squealed, ushering me into the dressing rooms.
"Mary Anne!" I hissed.
"Oh quit whining. Try it on."

I glared at her and eventually pulled the door open and went in. I stripped my clothes on and pulled the dress over my head, hoping it wasn't too small.

When I'd finally gotten it over my head and pulled it down to my waist, I patted it down hoping to get all the wrinkles out of it. I turned around and faced the full length mirror standing behind me.

I stared at the reflection in the mirror. The girl staring back was almost unrecognisable. My long brown hair went to the middle of my back, not a hint of a curl in it. My green eyes glowing with excitement.

The dress flowed down and curved at the bottom. It was strapless; making my chest stand out more than it would have when I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

I had to admit, Mary Anne was right. The dress looked gorgeous on me. I just wish I had a chance to wear it.

"Let me see!" Mary Anne yelled impatiently from the other side of the door.

I gave myself one last look in the mirror before opening the door and stepping out.

"Oh my gosh! It absolutely looks gorgeous on you!"
"Yeah. I know, but-"
"You're wearing that to the prom!"
"I'm not going." I hissed.

She ignored me and pulled her wallet out of her purse.

"Mary Anne-"
"Nope! You're not stopping me from doing this!" She said, grabbing the dress from me and running to the cash register.

I stared at her open mouthed. Did she not understand that I was not going? Surely Justin wasn't going to decide to go? Not with his mom in hospital.

She came back a moment later with the bag in her hand.

"I have the perfect shoes to go with it at my house."
"Mary Anne!" I whined.
" Oh quit whining, it's not every day you get to look nice."
"And what if Justin doesn't go? Then you just basically wasted-"
"Oh, he'll go. Believe me."
I glared at her. "You wouldn't."

She just smiled and spun on her heel walking the other way.

She was unbelievable! She had something up her sleeve. I wasn't exactly sure what it was yet, but I was going to find out.

I followed her out of the store and walked out to her car. I got in the passenger seat and she drove off.

"Logan just got back from his trip yesterday, so I invited him to join us for lunch." She said, grinning happily.

I nodded. Logan's dad worked for the CIA so he was always travelling on different trips. He had been gone for 3 months according to Mary Anne, and I knew she missed him like crazy.

Eventually we pulled into the parking lot. I looked around to see where we were and saw that we were at my favourite food place. Spaghetti Warehouse.

I grinned. "You know me so well."
She smiled. "I know, now come on. Logan's probably already here."

I got out of the car and went over to wait on Mary Anne. She got out and linked her arm through mine.

"Babe!" A husky voice called out.

Mary Anne and I turned around and I heard Mary Anne squeal and pull away from me and run into her boyfriend's arms.

" Logan! Oh my gosh! I missed you so much!" She said and kissed him.
"Me too, babe. Me too."

I leaned against one of the poles that was right beside us and waited for them to finish so we could go and eat. I was hungry, considering the fact that I hadn't eaten since 9 this morning and it was now 1:30.

"Hey Lilly." Logan said and picked me up crushing me into a bear hug.
"Logan!" I said practically laughing.

Logan was like this with everyone he knew. That was just him being friendly. I guess you could say he was like a big teddy bear. He was harmless unless you made him mad. Especially when it came to Mary Anne, he couldn't stand when people said something mean about her. He was overprotective, not in a bad way, where he goes through Mary Anne's phone or has to know where she is every minute. But in a good way, he hates it when people say something bad about her and he hates it when people hit on her.

"So what have you been up to lately?" Logan asked, finally putting me back down.
"Nothing really, just hanging out with Mary Anne and Justin."
"Ah Justin. I heard about what happened." He said, quietly.

I only nodded. I didn't want to think about that right now, I just wanted to forget about it for the time being.

"Anyway, let's eat. I'm starving." Mary Anne said, changing the subject, thankfully.

When we went inside and got a table, the waiter got us all a menu and took our drink orders.

I watched as Mary Anne and Logan started their conversation about how his trip was.

I just tuned them out and pulled out my phone. I flipped it open and realised I had 3 text messages from Justin. I went to the message menu and looked at them.

Justin: Hey, what u up2?
Justin: Why aren't you answering?
Justin: Lilly! Answer!

I sighed and quickly typed a reply telling him I was out with Mary Anne searching for prom dresses. My phone beeped a minute later.

Justin: Oh. You're going?

I texted him back and replied no I don't want to go but Mary Anne just simply refuses to take no for an answer, no matter how hard I try to tell her otherwise.

Two minutes later, my phone beeped again.

Justin: Ah, I wouldn't put it past Mary Anne to do something like that.
Lilly: I know, she insists that I go.
Justin: Maybe you should.
Lilly: Why? I don't even have a date.
Justin: Hm. So? You could always go as friends with Mary Anne.
Lilly: She's got Logan. I'm sure they don't want me tagging along.
Justin: Oh.
Lilly: Can we just forget it altogether? I'm not going. End of story.

At least if he doesn't go, I'm not going. I felt my stomach drop, when he didn't automatically ask me to go with him. But why would he? We weren't even a couple.

I sighed and focused my attention back on Mary Anne and Logan.
