His face was contorted into a mask of anger. Justin's eyes were locked on his father's and he had been that way for the past 10 minutes.

"Justin. I heard about your mother." His father spoke, breaking the silence.
Justin flinched. "Yeah and?"
"Well, since I'm the only family you have left I was hoping you would come and live with me."

I watched Justin's face turn from bored to anger in a matter of seconds. His face turned slightly red and his fist clenched. He narrowed his eyes and didn't speak for what felt like forever.

"Never." He stated.
"And why not?"
"Because I'm staying here, with mom and Lilly."

His dad raised his eyebrows and brought his attention to me.

"I'm assuming you're Lilly?" He asked me.
I nodded. "Yeah."
"Well, I want you to think about it. Don't make any decisions right now, just give it some thought."
"No. Why would I even want to go with you? After everything you've put me and mom through?" Justin asked.
"I apologised." His dad answered. "It's not good enough. An apology is not going to cut it." Justin said.
His dad shook his head. "Think about it."

He walked to the door and then left. Just like that. No explanation, no nothing.

"I cannot believe that just happened." Justin said, sighing.
"It'll be okay." I said, comfortingly.

Justin shook his head and grabbed my hand, leading me back up to his room.

We reached his room and I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

"Lil! Get up!" Justin voice called, bringing me back to a dreamless sleep.
"Hmm?" I asked.
"Get up. Now."
"Why?"
"Because we're late for school."
I bolted upright. "What?"
"Just kidding. But at least it got you up."

I hit him with my pillow and he burst out laughing. I laid back on the bed and closed my eyes, pulling the covers up over my head.

"Aw come on, get up." Justin said. "No. I'm tired." I said.
"But it's 10 o'clock!"
I rolled my eyes. "And?"
"It's too late to be sleeping."
"Is not."
"Is too."
"Just get up, Lilly."
"Make me, Justin."

He grinned and picked me up off the bed. He took me into the living room and sat me down on the couch.

"You really shouldn't have said that."
"Whatever."

My phone gave a shrill ring and I picked it up at the 5th ring.

"Hello?" I asked.
"Lilly." Mary Anne's voice rang in my ear.
"Yeah?"
"We need to talk." She stated.
"What? Now?"
"Yes. Now get over here."
"But-"
"No buts. Now."

I sighed and heard her hang up. Great. This should be interesting.
"What?" Justin asked.
"I have to go to Mary Anne's."
"Now?"
"Yeah. Apparently."

He sighed and pulled me to his chest, wrapping his arms gently around me.

"I don't want you to go." He whispered against my ear.
"I don't want to go either." I replied, sighing.
"So don't."
"But I have to."
He sighed. "I know."
"You should talk to Logan. That way you can get his side of the story.'
He nodded. "Okay. See you tonight?"
"Yeah."

He kissed me briefly on the lips and then I left.
