I walked out of the bathroom in one of Justin's t-shirts and a pair of basketball shorts. I walked to his room and knocked gently, hoping he was out of the shower and fully dressed.
"Justin?" I asked.
"It's open." He called back.I walked in and looked around his room. It looked exactly the same as it always did. Posters of music bands on his walls and pictures of people that he loved the most. I was surprised to find that most of the pictures were of me and both of us together. They were taken back when we were best friends.
Some of his clothes were strewn across the floor, but other than that, the floor was noticeable.
"Nice to see it hasn't changed." I commented.
"It's only been three weeks, Lilly."
"I know, I just feel like I haven't been in here forever."
He laughed gently. "I know how you feel."
I smiled. "You should."He pulled me gently and I snuggled into him. He wasn't wearing a shirt, which made him even warmer.
"Tired?" He asked, pressing his face into my hair.
"Yeah, a little." I replied, inhaling in his scent.
'Okay, come on let's go to sleep."I nodded and went and lay down on his bed. I smiled, remembering how I used to sneak into his roon at night because I got scared or because I missed him. It wasn't that far of a walk so it wasn't like I was going very far.
Justin climbed into his bed and lied down. He pulled me to him gently and wrapped his arms securely around me.
I looked at him and sighed. He had dark circles under his eyes and his eyes were red. It was as if he hadn't slept in days.
"Why haven't you been sleeping?" I asked him.
"I have."
"Then why do you have circles around your eyes?"
He sighed. "Okay, so I haven't. But it's only because I'm still worried about her."
"Justin. She's going to be fine." I told him.I reached up and stroked his cheek gently, willing him to believe me.
"How do you know for sure?" He asked.
"Because she's strong. Just like you."
He smiled gently. "I know."
"So see? There's nothing to worry about."
He sighed. "Doesn't mean I won't anyway."
"I know, but I just want you to get some sleep."
"I will." He said.I kissed his cheek and smiled.
"Go to sleep then."
"Not until you do."
I sighed. "You're so stubborn."
He grinned. "I know."I traced his lips and smiled. It was a first time in a long time that I had actually seen him smile. I mean yeah, sure he'd smile here and there, but this smile was real. This was his smile.
"I've missed that." I told him quietly.
"Missed what?" He asked gently.
"Your smile."He smiled and kissed me gently. His lips moved in unison against mine. I felt everything disappear around us and it was just me and him. All alone.
I pressed myself closer to him and snuggled into his warm embrace. His lips were still firm against mine and I didn't want it to end. Justin pulled away and cupped my face in between his hands.
"I love you." He whispered.
I smiled and leaned into his touch.
"I love you too." I replied.
I closed my eyes and sighed. This was perfect.
I heard the sound of someone knocking on the door coming from downstairs.
Who would be knocking on the door this late? It was already 2 in the morning.
Justin frowned and got up.
I got up and followed him out of the room and down the stairs. He went to the door and opened it.
"Son." His father said.
Justin's eyes narrowed and he stared emotionless at his dad.
"What do you want?" He asked.
"What? A father can't come and see his son?"
"No. Since when did you want to see me?"
His father raised an eyebrow. "You're my son, aren't you?"
"Yes, but that's not how I see it. Sure you were the one who got my mom pregnant, but you were never there for me, so I can hardly say you're my dad." Justin said.I stepped forward and stood beside Justin. I took his hand and laced our fingers together.
His father clenched his jaw and stared at Justin. "What gave you the idea that you could speak to me like that?"
Justin scoffed. "I can speak to you however I want."
His dad sighed. "Let me in."
"Why?"
"Because I said so."Justin sighed and moved so his father could walk in.
I looked up at Justin's face and tried to figure out what he was feeling, but I couldn't.
I sighed. This was not good.
