Chapter 30 : Blinking game.

Build jumps on the bed, it feels so comfortable and he doesn't want to put away his things from his suitcase right now, he feels too lazy for that. He turns his head to look at Jeff, who is on his laptop, sitting on the floor next to his suitcase.

Build : What are you doing ?

Jeff : Someone forgot to upload the architectural plan for one of my customers, so since I made the approval about it, I will send the last one I have to my team.

Build : I hope you will not work every day on our vacation.

Jeff : I have one or two things to do if I have time, but I promise to have time to do everything we need to do together.

Build : Thank you. Then, I will take a shower.

Jeff : No problem. I will finish that in the same time.

Build gets up to walk towards the bathroom downstairs, he can't forget what Tong told him about the last relationship of Jeff when he saw him like that. They are not a thing, but if he acted already like that, he is afraid to feel lonely as his ex-boyfriend. Even if Bible cheated on him, yet he was always there for him until the last months. He is lost because if it's to be alone most of the time, then he is better single than having a ghost boyfriend. He takes his time for his shower, his mind is busy with every thought he has.

He gets back to the reality when Jeff knocks on the door to ask him if everything is fine because it has been a while since he got there. Build turns off the water and takes a towel to cover himself before he leaves the bathroom.

Build : Sorry, it felt so good under the warm water that I didn't notice I was there for that long.

Jeff : I was getting worried. Then, excuse me, I will take your place.

Build : Sure. I will get ready in the bedroom.

Jeff enters the bathroom while Build heads back to the room where his clothes are and he chooses carefully what to wear. He wants to impress for the first dinner and their first night here, after all Jeff chose the most luxurious restaurant on the island because the view there is beautiful while they can eat delicious food. He dresses up well before he goes downstairs and he is opening the Bay window in the living room to go near the pool. He waits for Jeff there, mesmerized by the view.

Jeff : Are you ready cutie ?

Build : Oh... Yes ! And you ?

Jeff : Me too. We have some time before to meet the others. Do you want to walk around the island with me ?

Build : Sure. Let's go.

They close the door, leaving the villa to have a walk together, actually Build is still overthinking about his friend and he doesn't really know what topic to bring while they visit the surroundings quietly. Thankfully, the water, the sand, the landscape make it less awkward. Jeff has no clue about the situation and only thinks it feels good to do a simple thing like that where no words are needed, even if it's their plan to make Bible suffer, he uses this chance to spend most of his time with Build hoping he would perhaps choose him at the end.

Time is up, they head back to the meeting point where they wait for the others and they can notice soon as they are noisy from afar, especially Tong with Arm.

Tong : Build ! Arm said he doesn't love me anymore !

Build : What happened ?

Arm : That's not what I said !

Tong : It's exactly that !

Arm : No ! I said that you can't have the fishes.

Tong : It's the same !

Mile : Alright ! Let's go to eat.

Apo : I'm so hungry.

Build : We don't want to know why.

Jeff : Follow me then.

They walk towards the restaurant, Jeff is leading the way while Build is at the back listening to his friends talking about those fishes, he is laughing thanks to them and Bible gets close to him, asking if they can talk now walking with distance from others.

Bible : Are you okay ?

Build : Mh ? Yes, why ?

Bible : They can't notice, but I can. You look like you are not here.

Build : I'm fine.

Bible : You know.. Even if we are not together.. If you want to talk, I'm here for you..

Build : Thank you. I forgot about this about you. Do you want to know something ?

Bible : Sure, tell me.

Build : When you cheated on me, I forgot every good memory about us, actually it's like the only thing I can remember and I find it sad when I know we were not perfect, but we had good times too.

Bible : I'm sorry. I was not a good first boyfriend for you and if you want to remember the good times. Perhaps when we go back to Bangkok, we can redo some of them ?

Build : That sounds great. But as friends, right ? And even if, you were not the perfect one, I can say now with hindsight you were enough as you were.

Bible : I regret to have cheated on you. But you know what I regret the most too ?

Build : What ?

Bible : I lose my boyfriend and my friend at the same time. I liked our friendship before we became a couple..

Build : Thanks to you, I learnt new things and I became less shy. Anyways, I was not right for you too at that time.

Bible : Why ?

Build : I guess I put pressure on myself, then on you, because I wanted to be a boyfriend and do things in the right way, so it was like I became a doll not truly myself. How could I expect you to be your true self when I was not with you too.. I don't excuse what you did to me, I just can't blame only you. Do you know ? In movies, sometimes they call it "right person wrong timing". It was maybe that for us ? We were not the right one at the time.

Bible : Or we needed to grow up and met again later ? We needed space before to start a new story ?

Build : Bible.. Don't start now.. I don't know.. Please, wait for my choice.. It was nice to have this talk with you.. Sorry, Jeff waits for me...

Build walks faster to join Jeff as they enter the restaurant, the group of friends go to sit in a private space where the reservation was made. Build sats between Tong and Jeff, in front of Bible who is stuck between Mile and Apo.
