Chapter Twenty Five

Four days later, I was released from the hospital. I was pregnant and I was cancer free. I could go home and continue my life as normal. When we got home, I immediately went to the bedroom and fell asleep. Tanner took Elena into her room and put her down for a nap. He came into the bedroom and laid right next to me. He snuck his hands against my waist and pulled me closer to him and fell asleep right next to me. I love falling asleep next to him, it brings me so much comfort. We wake up and start to cook dinner. Tanner goes and gets Elena and puts her in her highchair. She loves to watch me cook. Tanner sits at the table next to her highchair and feeds her. I love the way she looks into her dad's eyes. She has him wrapped around her finger and he is wrapped around hers. After dinner we move to the living room and put on a movie to watch.

Flash forward to a month later and I am having the worst morning sickness. Tanner rushes into the bathroom to comfort me. I have been keeping track of my pregnancy and making sure I schedule appointments to go to the doctors and receive my shot. I have been taking every precaution I can to make sure I carry this baby to full term. So far, everything has been a smooth ride except for the morning sickness. After I clean myself up, I go into the kitchen and start cooking breakfast for all of us before Tanner has to leave for work. After we finish eating, Tanner grabs his jacket and keys and heads out the door. I grab Elena and walk outside to kiss him goodbye. He kisses me goodbye and kisses Elena on the cheek. We both watch him drive away down the road. I turn on the tv, put Elena in her bouncy chair and start cleaning up around the house. I pass by the mirror in the hallway and look at my small baby bump. I missed this feeling, it's the best feeling in the world. I couldn't wait for my baby to get here. I clean all day and decide to take a break to play with Elena. After we play, I lay her down for her daily nap. I sit on the couch and watch my tv show. I call my mom and talk on the phone with her for a few hours. She starts asking me questions about the baby and if I am planning on having a baby shower. I told her I would think about it. We end up hanging up and I take a nap on the couch. An hour later, Elena wakes up from her nap so I decide to feed her. I make the both of us a yummy snack until Tanner gets home so I can start cooking dinner. When he comes home, I start cooking his favorite dinner. After we eat, we lay Elena down to sleep. Tanner goes into the bathroom and runs a bath. He calls me into the bathroom. We both lay in the bath and relax. I lay my back against his chest and start kissing him. He starts holding me closer towards him. I turn around so I can kiss him more and lay my head on his shoulder. He turns on some music and lights candles around the tub and bathroom. This couldn't get any better. After we get out of the bath, we head to bed.
