I get up in the morning and get ready for school the jitters back and in full swing. I decide to dress casually so as not to stick out and go for something comforting to ease my nerves. I slide on some torn black jeans and get my chunky black belt. I'm standing in my bra, looping my belt through my pants when Dustin bursts into my room. I grab my KISS tshirt off my bed and cover my chest hastily.

"Wow, dude!" I yell at him. "Could you knock first?"

He holds up his hands defensively but his eyes catch on something and they narrow. I realize that my shirt isn't covering my side and my tattoo is still visible. I hastily cover it with my hand.

"I didn't know you have a tattoo," he says with a smirk.

"You better not say a word to anyone," I warn him angrily and pull my shirt over my head. "Now, what do you want?"

"I just wanted to tell you the bus will be here in a few minutes." I realize he has his backpack slung over his back and I nod as he heads out. I put my horror movie charm bracelet on, slide on my converse, and grab my bag. I run out the house after Dustin who is already waiting at the mailbox. The bus rolls down the road and we both get on. Dustin let's me sit with him and he tells me where the office is and what his locker number is in case I need him. He gives me a run down of his class schedule as well in case I have to come find him throughout the course of the day and for a moment I wonder to myself which one of us is actually the older sibling. When we get off the bus I grin at him and tussle his hair.

"I'll be alright," I reassure him as he spots some friends. He glances between me and them, hesitating.

"Go!" I urge him and he finally runs off to join them. I sigh, finally alone to face the day and decide to head inside to get my schedule.

I follow the directions Dustin gave me and find the little office without any issue. I step inside and an elderly woman behind the desk smiles up at me.

"Hello, deary," she greets me. "How can I help you?"

"Hi, I'm Y/N Henderson. My first day is today. I need my schedule."

As I finish talking, the door behind me bursts open and two boys stumble in arguing with each other loudly. A teacher stands behind them, trying to usher them through the doors but the boys continue to feud back and forth. The first is tall and blond. He's wearing khaki pants and a letterman jacket. He's yelling loudly and flailing his arms around, really getting into the other boys face. The second boy is equally tall with long curly brown hair. He's wearing an Iron Maiden tshirt and a battle jacket thrown over it. He's got washed and worn jeans on and white sneakers and lots of jewelry on his hands and wrists. He's definitely more attractive and calmer than the first boy but he's still agitated and he holds his own against the prep as he snarls in his face.

They are so distracted by one another the preppy guy doesn't notice me and he bumps right into me, pushing me into the counter. The teacher's hand comes out to try to redirect him, but the prep says something to the metal head and he shoves him further into me. I yelp as my hip digs into the counter and the boys continue to bicker.

The elder woman behind the counter stands on her chair with a heavy book in her hands. She stares down at the scene and then suddenly let's go of the book. The loud slam rings through the room and the boys finally silence. The other teacher grabs them both by the collar and pulls them off of me. I huff slightly, straightening up. I rub the tender flesh on my hip and wince slightly as the receptionist sits back down in her chair and the boys are ushered down the hall towards the principal's office.

"Sorry about that, sweetheart." The woman says. She pulls up my schedule and hands it to me. She instructs me on where my first class is and gives me a school map and shows me how to get there.
